Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: One Seed Loquat Fruit
« Last post by MedallionBell on April 24, 2024, 11:56:00 PM »
New to the group and happy to be here!  I have a large Loquat tree.  I am considering a project of air layering so I can provide more people with starts that would produce fruit sooner.  Does anyone have thoughts on this?  I have included pictures of my tree and the fruit.

Thank you!

That looks strange for a rambutan flower. There are usually clusters on the end of branchlets, not coming individually out of the side of a thicker branch like that appears.
You should see ovaries in the center of the flower.

There are 2 here and more buds just starting. I wasn’t sure what make and female flowers look like (not very good at jackfruit either).

Are there any more flowers?
They normally have clusters?

Can anyone tell me if this is a hermaphrodic flower? It was grafted from a hermaphodidic tree. Does anyone have any experience with hand pollination?
