Wilting on inground Meiwa kumquat
« on: June 14, 2022, 02:46:58 PM »
I have had many cloudy and/or rainy days and today it is sunny and 95F.   Is this normal.  it is the first time ever.

Less wilting on older shoots

I noticed this as well, my satsuma and a few others are wilting after cloudy days and this sudden sunny heat today. Its only on new growth though, the older leaves and stems are not wilting.

Thank you.  It is good to know it is not anything to worry about.

Young leaves transpire at a higher rate than mature leaves.

My potted plants definitely do this, although it does make me nervous.
Seems like that kind of stress is not ideal.

Check the soil temperature.  I suspect the roots aren't quite warm enough
