I loved Kyoto and Pione grapes from Japan. I’m in Hong Kong now and they’re selling these Japanese grapes, I had just bought 2 bunches of pione grapes when I saw this gigantic grape called “Black King”
I bought it for $18 USD.

It is sweet but balanced with some acidity. Seedless, and about 30 grams per grape. It has a grape flavor but is more natural than artificial. Also the skin is very thin and peels off in one piece.

I found this link I think it’s their website:

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Banana Help
« on: August 03, 2021, 03:34:58 PM »
My bananas’ leaves started yellowing and folding down and I don’t know why.

I included a soil test and already applied fertilizer and foliar feeding since the test.

I gave them extra water yesterday but no difference.

Located in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles)

Any suggestions?

Mostly interested in lychee varieties (sweetheart+ Mauritius) and mango varieties (orange Sherbert + any highly rated varieties).

Thank you!

Major agricultural works from fruit planting to fruit harvesting in Litchi

When the temperature starts to rise in the month of February in Bihar, then flowers start coming in the garden of Litchi. When about 8-10 % of flowers come in the garden, bee boxes should be kept at the rate of @ 10-15 boxes / hectares, by doing this, pollen in Litchi's orchard is good and yields good too. When the flowers in the garden of Litchi are well fruitful, the bees stop coming to the garden. As long as there are bees in the garden, we should not use any agricultural chemicals. Fruits in the garden do not fall, for this planofix @ 1 ml medicine / 3 liters of water should be sprayed. Before irrigation, about 500 grams of urea, 250 grams muret of potash / tree plate should be made, then light irrigation should be done continuously. When the fruit is equal to the grains of peas, then you should use neem based pesticides. Where there is more problem of fruit piercing insects, imidaclopreed should be dissolved in @ 1 ml medicine / 2 liters of water and sprinkled in 10 days interval. Where there is more problem of litchi fruit ripping, there is Borex @ 4 ga.
It is good to dissolve in / litre water and spray two at a interval of 10 to 15 days.
Litchi starts cooking around 20-25 May in Bihar. Litchi should always be done between 4-8 am in the morning, sorting, boxing etc. all things should be done in a cold place. If possible, send it to the market for sale in cold-cold. If possible, use a air conditioned vehicle.

Temperate Fruit Discussion / Does anyone grow Ruby Roman or Kyoho grapes?
« on: January 06, 2021, 07:38:22 PM »
When I went to Japan the kyoho grape was one of the best fruits I ever had. I tried 4 different brands of California Kyoho grapes and none of them were as good, they were too small, sweeter, and lacked the plum flavor.

I got a kyoho grape plant from someone on facebook Marketplace and am waiting to see if it can produce the same quality grape. I know there is a special practice for growing grapes in Japan, and I’ll try and do the same.

Does anyone else grow Kyoho or ruby Roman? Has it ever produced the golf ball sized grapes? Do they taste the same as the ones in Japan?

What is happening to the leaves? Could this be caused by getting water on the leaves+sun?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Best White Sapote Variety? (California)
« on: October 21, 2020, 04:12:39 AM »
So I've been looking at all the white sapote posts, but it seems like there's no clear white sapote winner.
Has anyone tried enough varieties to say one they like best? I don't like the bitterness that some varieties have.
