Will my Nam Doc Mai bloom new flowers after March
« on: March 30, 2020, 05:43:39 PM »
My Nam Doc Mai only bloomed a few flowers around the lower branches.  The top, however, did not bloom this year. Maybe some branches are showing signs of the tree attempting to push some out. Can this variety bloom viable flowers in April?

Thanks

It's been a confusing Winter for my mangos and a couple of my
trees flowered twice including a Nam Doc Mai. It has about 12
decent size fruit and flowered recently and has a couple more
panicles loaded with fruit. I think it was caused by the 3 consecutive nights we
had that were 40F about 6 weeks ago? We are very warm now and I
would guess there may be no new flowers? I have a pickering and a
glenn that both have flowers that started to push and now it looks like
neither will set this year?

Truly confused, I have a couple of trees making new flowers now.  Not a whole lot, but bloom instead of vegetative flush.  Not Nam Doc Mai though.  Still too young for that.

Who can know ahead of its actually happening.  But bloom in April is not unusual.

Same here..Cotton Candy, White Pirie and Hima Sagar are onto their third bloom. Have never had any mango bloom this late before in my yard.

I remain hopeful that it will. I've only had the tree for about 4 fruiting seasons...but I have seen it bloom at odd times. Sometimes even multiple times. So who knows? Maybe it will flush out some flowers around the top.

Thank you all for the feedback.
