Old Grafting Scars: What should I do?

Hey guys, me again with another question: I have a small tree that I grafted last fall, with a scar from a previously failed graft. I have been watching the scar, hoping it would heal up, but it hasn’t changed, other than hardening. Yesterday, I noticed gummy sap accumulating at the top of the scar. Now that I know what I’m doing (mostly lol), I will be grafting this species to another rootstock (without scars lol) once it gets big enough. Is there anything I should do to protect the wound and encourage healing? I’ve thought about re-wrapping the area. Thanks for your time!

I would just leave it alone, it will eventually callus over. If you're raelly worried about it, you can apply a little copper fungicide.
