Looking to get a Yuzu tree or sapling.
Not interested in seedlings since they take forever to fruit that way. Only grafted or rooted cuttings.

You and everyone else. I ended up getting some seeds because Yuzu trees are so hard to find. My seedlings are not growing particularly fast, but I still might get fruit from them before mature Yuzus are readily available for sale.

You are probably better off ordering from a nursey online. I ordered a meiwa kumquat and a xie shan satusma from https://www.briteleaf.com/ (https://www.briteleaf.com/) in the early spring. They have Yuzu too, rooted cutting or grafted $15-25 for them, shipping is around $15 which is reasonable. You have to sign up for a back in stock notification because they are out of a lot of things right now.

@W. Not gonna bother with seed grown. Citrus tend to not be true to type growing from seed, and Yuzu are legendarily slow growers from seed. They can take upwards of 15 years to produce.

It seems chefs and "foodies" are really interested in it. I don't see myself using it, though. I have sudachi already and I don't see the appeal

I contacted briteleaf a ways back early spring for their cuttings, they stayed mid to late fall they should have a good variety. I ordered their rooted cuttings Yuzu’s before and they are great trees.

Yuzu makes a great tea, I drank lots of it while abroad in South Korea during the winter. It's equal parts sugar or honey and sliced up fruit peels into a jar, will last a few weeks in the fridge. I made some with meyer lemons but it's not the same. Really opens up the sinuses and the vitamin C is great. If you'd like to try it, Asian grocery stores such as Hmart, Mitsuwa, etc carry it. I've seen some at Costco once

I had always thought lemons and related citrus are generally true to type. I guess in a few years I will find out about the fruit quality of my Yuzu seedlings.

They have budwood of this hybrid at CCPP but not available till later this year.

Wow, I love that website. So many great varieties for sale.
I will be travelling to the US in a few weeks. I'll be sure to place an order. Hopefully I can fly back home with a few trees without any issue.

Hershell tries hard to give his customers quick service and a quality tree. He is a great guy. I have met Hershell several time at the Citrus Expos. I remember way back when his daughter was on the old forum.

Brian - are you going to prune that smaller branch off (the one pointed left)? My Yuzu from Madison arrived today (fantastic condition, again, very impressed) and has a similar second smaller branch/stem coming from the graft site. I am wondering if it is best to remove it so the plant can focus on one single main stem while young.

I don't even consider pruning until they've grown significantly.
