Ok, that makes sense. I didn't notice the blossom rot, but I do notice only the side of my trees with direct sun has fruits as well. Hardly any inside the canopy have fruits..

The other guava cutting I just got is called Indonesian Seedless Guava (good when eaten soft. Sweet pineapple/guava flavor). Is anyone growing this one, or has tried the fruits?

The person who has this tree said it will get a little yellow on the outside when fully ripe on the tree, and a little soft, taste is sweeter than the other two varieties he grows (Giant Taiwanesse Long, and Taiwanese Seedless).

No, not planning to release it this year. I want to wait to get more brix reading of the fruits. This year is bad for all loquat fruits, many people say they are not getting many fruits on their tree. I see the same thing on all my trees, only some varieties have fruits now so it may not give me enough data to know if the brix will be accurate this year. Once I see that the brix is consistent then I may consider sharing this variety with our TFF community.

Will not be selling any more loquat cuttings this year, only some trades if I see something good for me to collect.

I don't have Sherrywood, I do have Sherry, and last time I tested the brix, it came in at 18,20,20.  That is pretty good for loquats.

Angelino/Argelino and Avri had brix 15-17.

Do you know if it was their seedling Vista White or the real Vista White?

The cuttings I got (seedling VW) is very large, about 15 ft tall and has been fruiting for some time.

Just curious if anyone here has been growing the Vista White Seedling tree that was sold at Exotica Nursery in SD.

I just got some large cuttings that I will be grafting and adding to my collection. If you have this tree and it had fruits, please describe the fruits and if it tastes as good as the true Vista White or not.

I also grew out many Vista White seedling trees from my tree, and now I have one large tree (20ft tall) which has been fruiting for a few years now. The fruit looks similar to the Vista White, but maybe not as pure white flesh as the original variety. Also the fruit looks similar but the fruits do not grow in such huge clusters as my true Vista White (see photos below).

But I do notice my seedling Vista White tree seems to be more tolerant of the sun, the fruit doesn't seem to get sunburned, but the real variety will sometimes. Also, the color of the skin is a little darker than the real one. I will need to take some good photos of my seedling Vista White this month when they fruit again. Taste did seem similar and so the only advantage might be that the tree is stronger, vigorous, and can tolerate the sun better.

Thanks Brad. Ok, I did see some other videos from this lady. This video on the Marcu Pumpkin is very good, wish I knew if the fruit was from her tree or if she got it from someone else.

Her description of the fruit tastes is very similar to what the person said to me today when he showed me the last fruit from his tree that he had left in his refrigerator. It was cut about 1/3 of the fruit was eaten. Didn't get a good photo because it was wrapped in the clear plastic. but it look like 2-3 lb fruit. I saw some other TFF post that showed a 4 lb fruit, look just the the one in  the video.

I think I better graft most of my trees with this large Marcu Pumpkin. The tree is very vigorous, the person's tree was about 30 ft tall, straight up since his backyard is loaded with mature fruit trees. Much denser than what Frank (JF) had in his backyard. The person's fruit collection is the best and most varied that I have seen. All trees are huge, not just in pots, so all these mature trees makes you feel like being in a real jungle in Hawaii. Pretty much has every favorite fruit tree you can think of, and they are all growing well, and most are all fruiting trees. I may recommend his place for a YouTube video by our forum member eyeckr to visit.

For anyone that is growing the Marcus Pumpkin, please reply below to answer some questions I have:

1. If you grow it, can you show any photos of your fruit, outside and with it cut open to show flesh.

2. How do you like the taste of the fruit, and can you compare the taste with other named varieties.

3. Last question is for me. I just got some cuttings of the Marcus Pumpkin avocado and wanted to know if there are any serious avocado collectors out there that might want to buy a cutting of this variety.

I have enough cuttings to graft all the avocado seedlings and my tree with it, but the person who has the large tree said I could take a few more branch cuttings from his tree. Since I would like to spread this variety around in our TFF forum members collection, if you are interested in buying one cutting let me know.

The cost of the cutting will be $10 plus shipping if there are enought people (10) to make it worth my time. I will give the profit to the tree owner for letting me get his cuttings. I also made some fruit tree cuttings trades with him to get my cuttings I need for my own grafting needs.

I only have a photo of a partially cut fruit that was shown to me when I took the cuttings from the tree today, and got a whopper seed from one of the fruits he ate, so I will post the photos later.

Champagne is not that good, just average, get Chrismas, tastes better.

-Big Jim (orange flesh, excellent)-if you have my Big Jim
-National (orange flesh)-from Jonah
-China White, excellent white flesh
-Tanaka (orange flesh)- hard to find, taste is very good, close to my Big Jim
-Avri (orange flesh), very good
-Argelino/Angelino, very good.
-Kanko, very good
-Yehuda, good
- Shorepointe (orange flesh), very good
- Early Red (orange flesh), very good

others you will not find but are very good to excellent only:
- KT1->KT31
- Imperiale
- Estee
- China Doll
- Mizuho
- Melissa

poncirusguy, instead of taking that many months/years, why didn't you just graft the Meiwa scionwood onto any FD seedling or any other tree? 

Seems like a long time to get the Meiwa growing well again. I grafted my UCR budwood scion wood to a branch and it had 4 normal size fruits the next year. Not sure what advantage there was for you to use approach graft for an easy to graft Meiwa.

I will let you know when I have time to check my seeds that should be germinated now in pots outside. I have too many pomelo and other seeds growing out in pots so will need to check each pot.
