You bought a fruit or a tree?
I got scion from scion exchange last Jan.
The graft had 1 flower, but dropped before it was mature.
I'll strip leaves in a week to force more flowers.

I did not sign up. They passed out flyers a few days before they came. I did not get in trouble for that many citrus.
My friend in Westminster, city next to my city, had his citrus treated a few months ago. Rumor is that there will be a 2nd treatment after 3 months initial treatment. Just a rumor for now.

The agricultural department came last week and used 3 different chemicals on my 8 citrus plants to control CP.
Those chemicals only last a year so I'll be expecting them every year. Not Good!

Maybe the mangosteen fruits I got came from Mexico.
I got 5 germinated seeds. Ended up with 2 seedlings.

The goal of a raised bed is to keep the root crown dry during a flood. It doesn't have to keep all the roots dry.

Rule 1 is no compost nor mulch nor fertilizer nor water at trunk.
There are only big roots at trunk to hold the tree up. They don't need extra help.
You should remove all those fertilizers and mulch around the trunk. Dump sandy loam there to pretty it up.
I use plaster sand from HD. It dry hard.
As for roly poly, you can pick them up and put in zip-lock bag. No need for chemicals.

If you graft on 1 year old seedling, remove flowers.

Mama said I can't air layer on her small tree. If I air layer 5/8" branch she won't have a tree left.
I've looked into misting bed for cuttings and I would go this route if I wanted more trees.
I want to graft seedless guava onto my big tree and other people big trees. Literatures said T-graft is best but I can't find a picture of it. T-bud is terrible for guava.

I called a couple nurseries for you. One said they don't carry Gem. Another said they are not allowed to sell Gem to home owner. Only orchard can buy Gem.
Carmen patent ended this year so they recommend Carmen. They said it's better than Gem.
Maybe get Gem scion if you really wanted one.

Hello all,
I'm having no success with grafting guava. One article I read said that cleft take is low, below 10% where as T-Graft take is as high as 90%.
So far I can't find a picture of what a T-Graft looks like. Anyone has a picture of it?

my DF cuttings root fine in a white 5 gallon bucket filled with 1" of water, in full sun, half day. I top off once a week.
No need to baby those weeds.

DF put out many side roots, the side close to the fence. Laying on the side waste space so we stand them up.
