Solo Papaya Flowering in December
« on: November 30, 2021, 04:16:48 PM »
I know December is tomorrow, but let's pretend we're already there.  ;D

I have a couple of <1yo Hawaii Solo Sunrise and Sunset papaya trees that are about 4 feet tall. Went out to the garden today and noticed they're trying to flower in this unseasonably warm weather.

Should I flick the buds or just leave them be? I'm new to growing papayas but I heard any flower/fruit won't make it or do well in winter. I'm in zone 10a.

TIA, cheers!

My first few sets of flowers fell off on their own, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
