Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / ISO Annona Montana seeds
« on: January 24, 2024, 09:04:17 AM »
Looking for some A. montana seeds to try as rootstock.  Not looking to purchase the rare seeds  offered by some collectors who say its a superior tree, just want to try it for rootstock for other annonas.  Thanks in advance.

The one we successfully grafted turned out to be misslabeled from the nursery.  Its a pink and not actually the red Genova we initially thought.  We have not been able to get our hands on a true red variety yet.  Still looking.

We have Manzano in Kissimmee a few other varieties but that is the only one on your list we have.  I have access to the real blue java also but we don't grow it.

Awww I missed the giveaway.  Congrats to the winner.  Thanks for having such a wonderful giveaway Ryan!

Adam is very cool peoples.  We purchased a Superior Lemon drop on ebay this summer and went to pick it up instead of having him ship it.  He gifted us a Pitangatuba and a Grimal aswell.  I just noticed the small S. Lemon drop is already holding its first fruit.

Thank you !
How big are the 7 gal ?

Last time we went was in the spring and they were small.  Give Mike a call and ask him.  We got ours a couple of years back and it was a nice size for the price.

We got ours from Mike at Treesnmore in Palm City.

Hello all.  Im wanting to try some fall grafting of atemoyas.  If anyone has Hilary White and Carcarlo Reticulata or any atemoyas they are needing to prune.  We would like to graft some.  Hilary White, Pinks M, Leo #2, and a couple of others failed in the spring and we would like to try again now.  We can trade cuttings or I can pay for them. Let me know what you have.  Currently growing Gefner, Dream, Leo #3, Lisa, Super AP, ONG Bumpy, Priestly, C. Island, ONG Ruby Red

Kaz posting the description on the Estee loquat may help to increase the interest.  I don't remember the description, but recall you saying it was a top tasting variety in another post.  I would be interested in a few but would need scions not trees.  We are out of space and cannot add anymore trees.

I'll take the dragonfruit cuttings, but let me see if we are going that way this week so you don't have to ship.  I'll let you know in the next couple of days.  I wish I would have gotten some of those mango trees earlier.

Hey Ryan, I messaged you the other day and never heard back.  I wonder if you maybe didn't see the message?  It was regarding the Luc's Garcinia seeds.

76 I didn't realize my previous number was already picked

Florida Hills Nursery sells tissue culture grown bananas for a good price.
Thanks. I see that they have gold finger. I will order that one, and may be Lacatan. Still looking for Dwarf Brazilian and Dwarf red or jamaican and Raja puri

Are you just looking for tissue culture plants?  We have raja puri, dwarf braziliian, and dwarf red (but this one is just a pup so no pups available just yet)  but they are not tissue culture

We have some strawberries, not sure the variety, growing for a couple 2-3 years.  We first bought some starts from Walmart and then we planted some seeds of some Plant City grown strawberries.  Anyways I would plant them in the pots of my figs and other fruit trees and they kind of just grew there for the past few years.  We don't give them any special care and they kind of just survive on their own.  Remind me next time and I'll take you a few to add to your patch.  They aren't the biggest strawberries though, maybe they need to be fertilized more.  We have started to plant them in our flower bed to use as ground cover.

I'm down to jump on that florida order for 20 jumbo seeds.

If noone speaks up I'll look at adding garcinias to my permit and placing an order next week. I'll message you to see if you want to add your seeds to mine.

I want to order 10 seeds also if anyone in Florida is going to place an order and doesn't mind me jumping in with their order.  The permit site is not easy for me to navigate and don't want to mess it up.

I have Maria Black and I've tasted the fruit.  The flavor was good, it was similar to Oro Negro, but matures earlier.  The tree seems healthy and growing well.
Thanks for the feedback.  We also have an Oro negro, but it didn't fruit this year.  Actually none of our avocados fruited this year.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: question about planting banana pups
« on: May 26, 2023, 06:34:58 PM »
we do not remove the roots, just cut from the mother and plant just like it comes out of the ground.   Either in a pot or directly into a new location in the ground.  I also ship the pups that way, Ill wash off all the dirt and remove dead or broken roots and wrap the roots in newspaper and bag them.  I figure if the roots are healthy why would you want to remove them, it will just take the plant longer to recover.  But I do understand why some people cut the roots and treat the corm for bugs and diseases in different areas.

Hi Sam.  Its suppose to be a good candidate for growing in a pot, but would always do better in the ground if you hae room for it.  I seen a few videos even a couple Paul did.  Its also a very prolific producer from what I can see.  Hopefully its a winner and It will be replacing some of the other varieties we have.
