My Mcdill white sapote has some bark splitting on the tip of the branches. I was wondering if this could be a result of cold temps or something else. The tree has not even droped a leaf due to cold weather. Min temps were around 24°F
This is my first winter growing "subtropical" fruit trees and plants thanks to all the advice from the forum here. All plants were planted last spring/summer. This winter was really unsual. Temps were higher than usual and many plants were pushing new growth and then we had 3 days with temps from 24°F to 35°F max with clear sky during the night So here are the results: Day 5 after the first frost
I am interested in aquiring some Jelly palms and i would like to know if they are resistant to the red palm weevil. Also what other edible palms have some resistance to this insect?
Does anyone have any idea what deficiency is this? Fe, Mg ? what causes this leaf issue? And should i do something or its normal when small plants push too much growth?
Hello, i planted this tangelo in a sunny location and after some months it looks like this
Appart from leaf miner, is it intence sun and heat that causes the leaves to turn yellow or something else? I have it on the same watering program with my white sapotes and avocadoes that are doing really well. Should i do something or will it get better with time?
I discovered Armillaria Root Rot in one region of my farm, it killed one oak tree, one mulberry seedling and a blackberry growing nearby. The oak tree showed symptoms foof stress the last two years. The roots were white. any advice on how to proceed?
I have a small selck white sapote. The only info i have found is that it is one of the best tasting ones and genetically it is close to vernon and it should be self pollinating. Does anyone have any more info, more specifically regarding the taste, fruit size and color? Thanks
Yesterday this dwarf orinoco was 100% fine growing fast and today i saw this....
Something unraveled it and just broke it in half!!!. It is the second banana plant that received this treatment... The first was only 1ft tall and i placed chicken wire around it (it recovered fine). But this one was quite big...
Does anyone know what kind of animal would do this?! The ground around it was fine (untouched)
I was sent some small banana plants that began their journey May 4th and after contacting the post office they told me it wont arrive for at least 15 more days from today. Is there any chance they will be still alive? Has anyone of you had his shippment survive more than one month?
Is this monstera deliciosa? and if yes will it survive if i plant in the ground? semi shade or full sun. I found 4 plants in the garbage bin and i didnt have one so i thought why not
in January i bought some cherimoya fruits from the store and i have 50 seeds that i want to plant them. Could i have good results by just scattering the seeds in my farm (locations that are watered regularly) and expect good results or should i grow them in pots in the beginning? Same question with passiflora ligularis and yellow passionfruit
This is probably the ugliest white sapote you have ever seen. But its alive and well. The problem is that is seems to try to avoid growing above the graft. It tries to grow below the graft but i am cutting any new buds in order to make it grow above. The variety is selck and it is quite hard to find another one. What should i do? let it grow bellow? or keep doing what i am doing hoping for the best? here are some photos
Hello my blue java banana planted one month ago has opened its second leaf since beeing planted and its quite yellow (not burned, not damaged) and the plant still grows well. Should i be worried? the night temps when the leaf started to emerge were around 50 °F Here are some photos
