Tropical Fruit Discussion / unknown plant/ fruit identification

Hey everyone, I am new to posting here, I would like to know what fruit I am growing a seedling of. I found this fruit on my holiday on la Palma, canary islands. La Palma has a tropical/ sub- tropical climate. The fruit itself was white, golfball-sized and it had 1 round seed. I dont know wether the fruit was edible or not because I couldnt identify it. The first picture is my only seedling and the second picture is the tree it came from. Please respond if you have any idea.
