Really sorry re off topic, but it's impossible to get any info on D uniflora, Can you tell me if this plant is truly  Duguetia uniflora? I am holding a Rollinia leaf for comparison. I appreciate any info you can provide, maybe buy some seeds in appreciation?

Hi,
I cannot get to trees of D. uniflora right now. But it is easy to figure out if it is a Duguetia. If the fruit cannot be separated with a knife and only the segments come out then it is a Duguetia. Basically each segment is like a tiny fruit that you hold on the skin portion and you suck the flesh around the seed.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Dada, but I only have a non- fruiting seedling Duguetia, I've been told Duguetia leaves look similar to Rollinia? Others tell me Duguetia leaves are smooth more like A. Muricata?  The only way for me to tell for sure is when it fruits,  I can't get any definitive answers from anywhere.

Hi Dada,
Sorry a little off topic, but can you get a pic of the leaves of Duguetia uniflora? My supplier is definately sure of species, but the plant looks more like Rollinia.

55
Here's my rollinia for comparison:

Currently - so it has small leaves

From a more "leafed out" time, in December:

Thanks michsu, I have several Rollinia plants to compare, I'd love someone to post up some detailed pic's of uguetia uniflora if possible?
I'm sure someone here would have to have one in their collection.

Online nursery still believes it to be Duguetia uniflora.
Would anyone have some close up photos? I need some evidence to present my case.
Google isn't helping.

57
Hi Soren, I'd love to get a couple  of seeds If you end up with any spares.

Regards.

Bought this plant as dueguetia uniflora, not ever seen a dueguetia uniflora, I trusted my nursery that it is the real deal. I've recently been advised it could be a plain old Rollinia. Is it possible to positively ID the leaves so I can go back to my online nursery and find out the why's and wherefore'sof the mix up, If there is a mix up?

No fruit here after ten years, flowers for the last two years. Climate USDA approx 10b.  (Near Sydney, Australia)

I have some of lucs mattossii and they are def a slow grower but the look of them they are very beautiful foliage in their own right. Don't like too much sun and water when very young and only drama I have had with them is a small caterpillar that hides in them and eats growing tips.
You wouldn't have a spare one to sell or swap, Don? I'm in NSW.

So hopefully mine should be on the cusp of flowering.
I've stored Gac pollen in the fridge/crisper for two months and remained viable enough to pollinate.

How long does the vine usually take to flower? Mine is 8 months old, large and sprawling but not a sign of any flowers.

I noticed mine in flower for the first time.

Awesome:)
How old is the plant?
Iv tried to germinate seeds from Ebay a bunch of times without any luck I wonder if they need to cold stratify
My tree is getting up there, maybe  7-8 years old.
Yes, I've read that freezing the seeds can help and scarifying the hard seed coat as well.
Happy to send you some fresh seed if I remember when they ripen.
Thanks Jmc96 that would be amazing!

I suspected it would need quite abit of age on it to fruit as iv only seen large specimens in fruit online.
It is a really interesting species please keep us updated.of it's progress.

You're welcome, this is the first year I've noticed flowers, let's hope they hold and produce seed.
There is also a large old fruiting Hovenia dulcis tree an hour by car from my place, I'll stop off and check it out next time I'm in the area.

They are everywhere in Bali, Indonesia. Perhaps one of our Indo sellers might be able to help.
I was over there a month too early for the season. There should be tons of them in the markets right now.

If ever there was a textbook method of preparing, packing, labeling and sending permitted seeds to Australia, You're the man, Maryoto. congrats, well done. It was well labelled and also named the medium they were suspended in. Now if only more seed vendors could take a page out of your book, I wouldn't lose so many to Customs. Actually, these seeds had already germinated inside the sealed bag.
Many thanks again, M.

They are out of season for me here in Australia Nick. They are starting to flower now.

What are the varieties you grow John ?
Luc, I only have the Alstonville, a yellow, and a Red Centre lime, which is very similar to a finger lime only oval in shape, I think I might have  sent you some seeds of that variety? There is a lot of mature fruiting varieties at local plant nurseries to choose from, but I don't have much use for them personally.
I am keeping an eye on the availability of that special variety you want, still not available.

I had good germination rates just by being patient. They took around 6 months  without any special effort. These are approaching  12 months since sowing the seed and are off scamBay surprisingly enough.

You have revived my hope!!

Do you mind mentioning the seller you used?
Just went through my list, says no longer a registered user.
