Starting to get some fruits in from the berries (nothing compared to a mango but very tasty on its own right)

Boysenberry was very large, taste was excellent (the best of a blackberry with some raspberry taste and good sweetness).

Luke, btw I took those cuttings of the Arbutus unedo. The ripe fruits were all gone! It must of been to tempting to the birds, possums, and critters. This is good news, I did not get the chance to eat a fully ripened fruit and it was already really good for a Arbutus unedo.

here in NYC I have to spray and cover my apples with footies and I still lose about 30-40% of the apples to bug attacks

No spraying of any insecticides on anything. I did spray a fungicide about 2 years ago, when I got some fireblight. We don't have any commercial apple farms nearby and yard apples are not as common as citrus. The low humidity helps a lot on lowering disease and pests. I don't think I would grow apples if I could not do it with no spray.

The plants are looking great N/Z.  Are you going to push out another banana bunch this year?

Going to try to push a banana bunch again from a 30 gal container. Going to up the feeding schedule for the banana in the next couple weeks. Dwarf Orinoco again should produce again soon .

Very nice! My Apples are now putting small fruit and pear is just coming out of dormacy! I got my grafts kicking butt though! Will have a 8 in one apple and pear cocktail tree!

Hey nullzero, great updates on your plants.  I have several varieties of Blueberries and my Oniels produced some very large and extremely sweet berries this year.  I had to put up netting because a mocking bird keeps raiding my garden.  Nice updates on your Lychee, most my lychees are only slightly larger than yours.  My Sweetheart is the only large Lychee tree I have.  Your Boysenberries look absolutely delicious!

Great pics! I grow some of the same species. I may have over done it this year with yacon, I'm not sure why - last year's roots tasted like sweet carrots (which I also grow) and refused to store for more than a month. I will probably have a truck load this fall.

One trick I used last fall on my Lulo's (Solanum quitoense) was to just chop off the stems with the fruit attached and lay them on a table in the basement once the night time temps got to freezing. The stems stayed green and the fruit eventually ripened (I think it was more like December before I ate them). This year I plan on removing any flower buds and the growing tips to all the stems to encourage the plants to focus on ripening fruit earlier in the year.

The boysenberry was very tasty (an amazing fruit on its own fresh), it was more of a teaser (since I only had 1 fully ripe one at the time). If you don't have boysenberry, I can share some divisions with you. I have not netted the boysenberry, but I may consider doing it with the lower lying berries. The majority of the berries are nestled between the leaves which have thorns (should keep most ground critters away).

I had a O'neal blueberry it died however due to the water, it was more sensitive then 'Sunshine Blue' and 'Jewel' to the high PH tap water. Are your lychee trees in ground or container?

Thanks JF for the compliment, now only if I could get this Julie to hold a fruit to maturity (maybe if I am lucky this year).
