Looks like a nice compact tree and I presume a sabara. My good sabara as of 2 minutes ago is festooned with flowers again. The others have buds.Winter fruiting is a great characteristic of sabara for me.

Thanks Saff I notice my grimal has flowers as well after 25 days of rain in the last month. It will be a mid winter fruiting as well for that tree.
My ttrunciflora, coronata,Grandiflora,, peludo de whatever, big sand yellow, and 4 or 5 other species are ready for yard planting and there is room for only 3.I am trying to figure which will get the green light.

I don't know jack about jaboticabas but that tree looks über healthy. Very well taken care of to maintain such impressive foliage while in that pot. The roots are aching to bust out and give you lots of delicious fruit next year. Be sure to cut at rootbound roots before planting

Where did you get that monster? I "thought" I knew all the major nurseries but you uncovered a gold mine!

Great score fruitbox, that's a perfectly sized and shaped jabo and if it isn't ready to fruit, it couldn't possibly be far off. I would be surprised if it wasn't. Make sure you give it a hefty seaweed treatment when planting, really makes a world of difference for in situ trees.

That is a very big tree from a nursery. I imagine it cost a pretty penny!  Good luck with it!

How much does an awesome tree like that go for?  How old to you figure it to be?  Thanks for sharing.
