I use the Aquacrest garden hose water filter, but there are better filters on the market. I haven't tested the water, but it claims to remove chlorine and heavy metals, which can help lower the water's pH. Perfect for tropicals.
Best thing is, there's no more white residue on my plants. I guess that's some proof the filter's doing it's job. I've used it for a year now and everything looks lush and healthy.
I had a deep well on my property and had the water tested.
It had very high salt content and some of my trees were suffering.
I was told the filters are not effective. I was able to
switch to a shallow well on my property. I don't have any
experience with the filters and went with what the water company
told me. If the filters work I would like to know.
I'm on tap, so I'm not sure. I do remember reading that if you're using something other than tap, you have to wire mesh pre-filter before adding one of these low micron twist-on filters or they clog too fast.
