Hello Friends,

Now that Spring is here and the weather is warming up, I have started to move my Fruit trees from my Greenhouse to outside in my backyard.  Today I began the migration and here are just a few pictures that I took last night.  I will post more pics as I finish moving everything.

Your plants look happy for sure,  thanks for uploading, some of these pictures are good reference for me, so i can compare growth with my container plants, and see what they should look like.

That Oro Negro Avocado tree looks perfect.

Jacob,

Great pictures all excellent looking trees, everything is so happy. I know I probably Asked this before but... What mix and fertilizer are you using? Also are you getting some decent fruit harvests from the container trees.
Grow mainly fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

Jacob,

Your plants look amazing! You really have a knack for container culture.

By the way, how is the cabudella doing?

The plants look great.

I'm jealous of your purple caimito, J.

Has your green sapote flowered/fruited yet?

very nice looking trees - thanks for sharing Jacob.

I thought the jaboticabas, Barbados cherry and grumichama could take some cold, how come they were overwintered in your greenhouse?

Great job, Jacob. The wampi looks very healthy. It looks like everything is potted. Is that because you keep them in a green house? Everything looks very healthy. Great work here in SoCal.

That's an impressive collection there Jacob, and great pics. Thanks for sharing.

By the way, I should have brought in my grafted J-31 Jackfruit potted tree like you did. Instead, I left it outside after I bought it in early February. The tree nearly died from the cold weather temperatures. That was close!

Excellent update on your trees, they look incredible, especially for container grown trees. I'm also interested in you soil mix, how often you water and what/when you fertilize. Keep up the excellent work!

What kind of wampee do you have Jacob? Mine's a sweet round one from temple nursery.

It keeps growing tall and when I prune it back it stops fruiting for a year or 2 where I pruned.

Hello All,

Thanks for all of your kind comments.

For those of you that asked about my potting mix, it is something that I have been using for a while and haven't changed for a long time.  I do a lot of composting and have 3 compost bins going at all times.  From them, I get some of the richest nicest compost I've seen.  I also get a soil mix from a local nursery that is just up the street from my house.  They let me take as much recycled potting soil from them for free.  I also buy a Kellog product that come in 3 cubic yard bags called N'Rich that works excellent for drainage and breaking up heavy clay soil.  So I mix equal parts of my compost, the recycled soil I get from the nursery, the Kellogg's "N'Rich", and Bone Meal.  That's it, nothing to complicated.

As for Fertilizer, I use 5-1-1 Fish Emulsion and Vigoro 6-4-6 slow release fertlizer, again nothing special.

Richard - The Cabelluda is doing great.  It's getting huge and is flowering right now.  I will post some pics of it soon so that you can see what I am talking about.

Rodney - My Green Sapote has not flowered yet.

Kimi - MY Barbados Cherry and Jaboticabas actually stay outside year-round.  I only moved my Grumichama inside the greenhouse during the Artic Freeze we had this past winter.  Otherwise it stays outside.

Cuban007 - Thanks!  Yes, the moajority of my stuff is in pots, I am starting to put some stuff in the ground but slowly.  It is mainly so that I can move and protect them during freezes.

Felipe - I still have a couple Pindaibas but lost the Abiurana not too long ago.  I am not sure why, but it just started to decline until it died. I'll post some pics of the Pindaiba soon.

intel415 - You can pick up Air-layered Wampees at Mimosa in LA.  Mine hasn't flowered but it grows like crazy.  If I hadn't pruned it back several times, it would be 20 feet tall.

Thanks again everyone for your kind words.  More pics to come!

Jacob

Thanks for clarifying Jacob.  :)

Your wampee looks a lot prettier than mine - which is a rather lanky specimen with not too much leaves on top ...  Has your jabo fruited yet?
