Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Jak & Coconuts

^Can that be a dwarf green malayan coconut?

I believe that is it.  It's also the drinking coconut of choice in Vietnam, at least that's what I was limited to when I visited.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Top 5 mangoes
« on: January 19, 2012, 05:43:33 PM »
I know this topic has been discussed extensively on the other forum, both new releases & old favorites alike.  But since this forum is brand spankin' new, I figure it's appropriate and should serve well for new members going forward.

Taste is subjective and with all disclaimers aside, what are your FIVE favorite mangos?  This list may change the more varieties I get to sample, perhaps when my Lemon Zest & Coconut Cream are big enough to produce.  But as of now, they are in this exact order:

Maha Chanok
Edward
Spirit of 76
Carrie
Southern Blush / Glenn - though I'm leaning more towards SB

Those coconuts sure look good, I wonder if your tree is similar to these.  They're a bit more green than Noel's, dwarf too I think.

If you can't find enough seedlings, I've got lots of cherimoya seeds you can have for postage.  Not exactly ready to graft :)  but free if you want them.

I see where Murahilin posted today on GW.  Tim...did you mention the new forum in your post?  Anyone else locked out or something odd?

That was just it, not one word pertaining this forum.  I may have triggered a key word in spam filter?  Or if it's got to do with me replying in PJ's original thread with "just like the death of Figs forum when Figs4fun forum got their legs", possibly the latter  ::)

holy cow!!!!  They really do mean business, completely revoked my posting ability when I tried posting a new thread that simply reads "where on earth is everybody?"

lol Gwenn

No doubt it's an acquired taste for the novice but I don't recall having regurgitative reaction as compared to my first several accounts with goat or blue cheese  :'(

Yea it was removed sometime in the middle of yesterday, I was actually looking to bump it so more folks would see & migrate here.  At least we now know they have an admin  :P

I voted for Flavor, tree size & production ... in that order :)

On a side note, PJ's thread on GW is removed  ;D
