New foliage of particular colours

Hello everybody,
I know last spring a plant, I think was guava, with a violet foliage it's possible was a guava?
If it was guava, all guava have the new foliage violet?

There are different guava types and yes, they do come in green and/or purple foliage. Perhaps you can post a picture of your plant for better identification.

unfortunately I haven't a picture of the plant which I saw
but the foliage is similar to malaysian red
