What does the Phet Pakchong taste like.. Adam, I've never known anyone so good at grafting, it's enjoyable just to see pictures of your grafting successes.

one of the best!  much like cherimoya with firm flesh...and large fruits...

the tree is in my experience a bit finicky, and prone to die back....but is a consistent fruiter...Which I've kept in a pot for years.

Firm flesh?  It sounds like it could be good.  I only tried Cherimoya once about ten years ago, and didn't care for it, but I think it was more the texture I didn't like.  Then again, I can't really say I've had a good Sugar or Custard Apple either lol, I'm just gonna have to order a quality variety from you at some point.  I love Soursop though.

I don't know where u r located, but u gotta try some more annonas!

I'm surprised u don't like cherimoya!  the texture is like pineapple but softer on the Phet pack chong.  The taste is out of this world!

Great job Adam. So far I have 80% on anonna, that's because I have not had luck with soursop onto cherimoya, 100% on avocado and 50-60 % on mangos this winter. Here are some pics

Nicely done grafts, as usual, Adam! Have you tried Rollinia on Cherimoya rootstock? I ask because I'm getting some Rollinia budwood soon and Cherimoya rootstocks are all I have (or could get).

JF, from your pix, you're the only grafter I know that could graft upside down and side way! :))

Too lazy to put varieties and I have no idea why they are upside down :)

Adam, I bought the Cherimoya at a supermarket, and the Sugar and Custard Apples in Chinatown.  I imagine they're much better fresh from the tree.  I like the slight tang to the Soursop, it makes a drink more satisfying than Iced tea on a warm day, imo.

JF, your grafting skills are impressive too.  Great plant pics.

Adam,
Rosa is pushing, and it was grafted on a graviola (annona muricata) rootstock!  Pretty cool!
The ones grafted on cherimoyas, nothing yet!

Nice work Adam.  Those all look really good.  Any reason why cleft graft on some and veneer on others...or just hedging your bets?  I just did a bunch of cherimoya grafts on my tree and most are popping out already.  Only been about a week.  Must be perfect timing.  thanks for the pics!

thanks everyone for the encouragement, and kind words!

This time of year...after the trees have gone dormant, right before they start to leaf out, i will do lots of clefts and veneers....but as the season progresses, and dormancy ends, I start to do more veneers (mainly for the small seedlings I'm grafting).

sometimes I change my grafting technique because I'm bored, or sick of doing a certain graft.  :)

Here are some Lisa atemoyas on cherimoya that I grafted 3 weeks ago.  I did 2 cleft and 3 side veneer.  All 5 are pushing.  The clefts pushed first.  The cleft scions were much smaller diameter, the tips of the branches, so I guess the buds were further developed.

What a sloppy scion wrap job!!! I guess I am not getting a job as a grafter anytime soon. :P
