Capparis masaikai and Curculigo latifolia would make nice additions to the list.
There's a commercial brand of chocolate called Oobli using this for sweetening that might be worth trying 😋
I think Joe Hewitt just posted a picture of some that he's growing, so he might know of a source for seeds. It also might be worth asking Forest House Cameroon or Ferdy Manga if they have access. Good luck!
Capparis masaikai looks delicious! That is so cool to know about. Thank you for mentioning it! Do you know how cold hardy it is? Capparis spinosa, which is in the same genus, is supposed to be hardy to about zone 8b (15 degrees F). If it's an 8b plant, I could probably get away with growing it in an unheated greenhouse.
Curculigo latifolia sounds even better. Wikipedia says the fruit has the same effect as miracle fruit? Wow! Sign me up!
Do you know where I could get viable seeds of either of those to try?
They're from a subtropical area, so I think it's unlikely to survive in that zone without supplemental heat. There's some more info on it here:
http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=200009170Unfortunately I haven't found a source for non-dried seed, and I hear they need to be pretty fresh to be viable.
For C. latifolia, I've found a fair number of sources of both seeds and plants:

Cheers!
