Fruit production is decent from what I have seen at least +50 fruit on a 7ft x 8ft shrub tree at various stages. It staggers crop so its tough to say how many per year total maybe 100, I only visit the tree about 1 to 2 times a year, it holds fruit at various stages through out year.

I barely fertilize and its irrigated only by rainfall. Its a perfect savanna climate adapted plant. Once established in Florida requires no watering. It reminds me of Sea grape somewhat in heat and drought tolerance.

When my plants get bigger I'll also be selling cuttings.

Yeah, these things have no real cold tolerance.

Does anyone know what size they tend to fruit at?

Again, I'll stress how fast these things grow. In a tote/tub with other plants (e.g. eugenias and plinias and annonas etc) in tree pots this thing puts out roots so fast that it began aggressively invading some neighboring pots in their dirt through the side holes over the winter indoors where everything else barely got roots to the bottoms of theirs.

I have 2 mature nauclea latifolia trees. They have handled mid 30s for brief nights numberous times the last 7 years. The strain I grew from seeds originally from a market in Ghana.

Yeah, but IIRC on my end the leaves ended up looking really gnarly approaching those much cooler temps.  I can't recall how cold I let mine get.

But how big did your tree get when it started producing fruit?

About 7 ft tall, the branches at least from the strain I have start to bend over toward ground.

Nullzero.  That is fantastic that you picked that up in Ghana and now have it growing.  That’s the dream.

I found some seeds from another member here on the site. I am looking forward to getting them started. Different people seem to label these different. Yours is the red one, right?

Hopefully these are as delicious as they sound.

I didn't was imported with a lady in Ghana. She told me she got it from a local market from her town.

Ok Mr. Z, I will update when it gets closer.

I have three seedlings of N. latifolia.  Somewhere on this forum it is written they don't root from cuttings, but I had one cutting root quickly (but die, I am terrible with cuttings!).

They grow FAST with big roots. TOUGH plants.  I have them in about 5 gal containers now.  Be prepared to repot these sooner rather than later.  But don't believe there is tramadol in the roots, that came from cattle urine in the soil.

I have hope these can be made to fruit at a manageable size in a container.

N. latifolia roots well from cuttings. It puts out thick roots with bottom heat 80f, I use clonex on them. Just acclimate them slowly to outdoor conditions.

Nauclea latifolia, African peach grows from cuttings as well. Have 2 mature trees that fruit.

Are you selling them?

I can sell some cuttings, but I won't be taking them until Thanksgiving time. I have to check past messages I believe I had a few other people message me about them.

I have to find an available air layer. See how it compares in quality of fruit to my seedling grown ones.

I thought Ispahan was supposed to have a wider flowering window. If this one does not have the production level worthy of growing, then Kazanlik might be even worse. Do you suppose an Autumn Damask variety is better in this regard?

Oh man! How fragrant were the flowers? Do you have the Ispahan Damask rose?

I had it, ended up tearing it out. Low production of flowers only in spring, excessive thorns, super vigorous. I have to double check the variety.

Was ispahan variety just checked my emails. The rose had a nice fragrance but with the limited production and thorns I found it not worth the space for me.

Worth a try, I am trying another fragrant type rose now with low thorns.

Those are looking awesome!  I think I have a bunch of those same ones, guy was from Florida right?  My mature Queretaroensis is about to flower pretty hard for the first time ever:

The ants were all over the buds they definitely pickup on the scent.  Also Alamosensis is basically flowering this week now:

The red little tubes are very different looking from the other Stenocereus species I have seen.  I may attempt to cross pollinate the two to see if I can get some hybrid seeds.  Not sure how Alamosensis tastes but it is prolific when it comes to flowering, mine is not taller than 2 feet and probably has 15 buds on it.

I did not realize how deeply I got into that genus but I practically have at least half of the species belonging to it.  At this point I am just going to chase down the rest eventually, some are quite a bit harder to find (especially mature ones).

Congrats SDPirate flower buds are.looking good. Update us on hopefully fruits soon.

When looking to pull the trigger on purchasing a new Eugenia/Myrciaria plant or seeds, what criteria are you setting?
More popular fruit selections with a ton of reviews makes the buying decision easier. With literally 1000s of Eugenia and Myrciaria to collect, what qualifies as a must purchase?

Fruit size, flesh to seed ratio, and fruit is not reported to be astringent or insipid. After that cold tolerance, finicky growing, size and form.

I have some rooted cuttings of passion fruit. I grew many seedlings from Brazilian Large yellow out. Kept 2 which set tons of fruit one is purple medium size and the other is yellow large size.

I have rooted purple one and a qinmi #9. Also have various 2nd gen offspring seedlings.

I’d love those. Sounds like no rooted yellow, can you take cuttings? How is the purple one? Can you tell me more on qinmi9?

Qinmi#9 I tasted fruit from Kaz. Its pure sweet yellow medium small fruit. I bought cuttings off ebay from seller with good ratings then rooted them.

The yellow and purple varities I grow i posted description under Kaz passion fruit tastings post. I have to dig it up.

How large does you Austurkey fruits get, any photos?

Austurkey gets large. Its like 2 thai everbearing fruit clump together on the largest ones. Austurkey has a great sweet and sour flavor. Austurkey and Chiang mai 60 have great flavor above the average mulberry. Thai everbearing is amazing producer but would rank the fruit as average in flavor.

Chiang mai is one of my favorite tasting. Skinner and Taiwanese long have similar flavors sweet grape. Exotica pakastani has a good grape flavor with a slight tang. I think Skinner is better tasting. DM09 I need to try more fruits the critters keep eating then all.

I also have black prince, ispahan, Australian green, white shahtoot, maui, Lakeland tropical, Janes best, Exotica Himalayan. Australian green is like a superior selection of white shahtoot.
