How long has this cultivar been in development? Any reason why you are barerooting the plant?
Hi, plant this size is just a year old. I was sending it to Europe, all soil removed.

Yongguan is currently the Yangmei variety with the largest fruit. Even if the fruit is not removed, the fruit size is twice as large as Dongkui. Very incredible.

Beni Madonna is a citrus variety with almost no acidity and tastes very sweet. It is seedless itself, but pollination will cause seeds to be produced. Its skin is very thin and difficult to peel. When you peel it off, you can smell a very strong orange smell. When you cut into the pulp and taste it, it feels like eating jelly, it’s very delicious!

I'm just chilling with my male and female grafted ones.
I fully expect to get fruit in 2026.

Most people with imported trees report random dieback even several years after receiving for some reason. :-[
Hi my friend, yangmei died because it was infected with blight disease. Wrong management methods or plant diseases and insect pests can easily cause plants to be infected with blight disease. This bad phenomenon often happens in China, which often makes people have a headache. I wish your plant healthy growth and enjoyment of its fruits.

Maybe I'll be lucky enough to find one in a few years... but $200 for what appears to be an internationally shipped plant, no thanks.

The company is not in Virginia, best I could find. If they were I'd try to go for a visit.

Edit... I reached out to a few folks, including an etsy seller and was informed of the following... hopefully ChangYun Nursery can confirm this to be correct?

"Hello! While both the Crispy Kumquat (脆皮金桔) and the Crispy Honey Kumquat (脆蜜金桔) come from Guangxi, they are actually two different varieties."

"Crispy Kumquat

Appearance: Round or oval in shape, with smooth skin that is thin and crispy, and tender flesh. The crisp skin is the reason it's called "Crispy Kumquat."
Taste: The skin is crisp, and the flesh is tender with no bitterness or sourness, offering a pure sweetness. It has almost no seeds or is seedless, with a sweetness level of 20+.

Crispy Honey Kumquat (also known as Crispy Honey Kumquat King)

Appearance: Shaped like a pomelo or a small light bulb, with smooth skin that is thin and soft.
Taste: The skin is soft, with a high juice content. The flesh is fragrant and sweet, almost seedless, and has an incredibly high sweetness level of 23+."
Before pruning.

After pruning.

Haruka is a citrus variety worth having, the whole fruit smells lemony, but after peeling and tasting you will find that it is a very delicious sweet citrus.

There are three kinds of shixia: yellow shell shixia, green shell shixia, and Gong powder shell shixia. The best tasting fruit is yellow shell shixia, and longan is a prolific fruit tree like lychee.

I try to guess. Might it be a triploid hybrid of Fukushu and Meiwa?
It is a natural budding variety of crispy kumquat. It has no shortcomings except that it is difficult to manage.

Hi, I have about 300 Asumi citrus trees in my nursery. They are Japanese citrus varieties. They have all produced fruit. Their maturity period is from late January to early February. They taste very good. If you are interested, please contact me.

Wow! Now I want one of these trees! Seems like they're difficult to find in the US?

Hi, I have some grafted honey crisp kumquat plants, please contact me if you are interested.

This variety comes from Rong'an, Guangxi, China. The photo shows a medium-ripe fruit. The fruit is drop-shaped, has no seeds, and the skin and pulp are both sweet.

Hello friend, I come from China. This variety is the third generation of the Crispy honey kumquat from Guangxi Province, China. Its advantage is that the fruit is relatively large, high sweetness and no sour taste. The seeds of this variety are very small or almost seedless, and here they are propagated by grafting.

Your website is offering $200 for 50 scions.  The average person like me only want 3-5 scions.  Will you sell less scions at a reduce price?
:)Of course you can, my friend, because the freight for shipping plants from China to North America and Europe is relatively expensive, so I set a free shipping price for 50 scions. According to the price of 20 US dollars for 5 scions, the cheapest shipping fee I asked is about 33 US dollars, which is EMS express delivery.

Just got a bunch for $16, and it was the best one I've ever had giving the OG vibes of good shine muscat.
It's not the sweetness I'm after in general, it's actually the elaborate flavors.
Great, their exquisite taste requires careful care. In China, everyone is pursuing the yield of fruits, thus missing the taste of fruits.
That is what I have noticed along with many others.
The quality of the grapes have gone down in general due to the mass production.
This is unavoidable in order to meet market demand. Normal production will make many people unable to taste them, but expanding production will make many people who taste them for the first time think: "There is nothing special about them except sweetness."

Saw them for $10 here at so ca, price has gone down this year, before I remember it’s at least $20.
The drop in prices is amazing, but it's great for consumers.

Saw these type of grapes at 99 ranch this morning.  Guess it's more than a dessert wine, cost more than a decent bottle. $15/1.3lbs.

They have an outstanding sweetness, a slight rose scent, and are great for wine.
