I got an extra Robert's Golden Rainbow Fig in a 5 gallon from a very reputable source, and a Sweet Heart Lychee in 5 gallon ( bought it as 7 gallon from Mimosa).
Anyone interested to exchange trees?
I cannot have anymore fig, no space for it, but I am open to Mango varieties, white creamy guava, and Mauritius lychee.
I live nearby Burbank airport but can meet you in the middle (not nowhere).
Thanks!

Ok, the guy confirmed it was air layered like the add says. I looked and could not find any graft union so that makes sense. The Jumbo Fragrance I purchased from Mimosa was also air layered. That is why it could have fruits when that tree was in a 3 gallon pot and only about 18" tall.

So, check the graft union point, since that tree you are thinking of getting may only have 4-8" scion grafted, then it will take more than a year to have fruits on that one.

Here's my new Black Gold tree.

Beautiful tree!
It is a good deal for $75.
The one here is grafted about 2 years ago. I will check for the graft point.
Thanks, Kaz!

Ok, just picked up the Black Gold, thanks Seng and Seanny for the info.

The tree was on sale for $75, it is very healthy like my MST (from EKT) and the guy had about 8 trees, I'm happy. This person sells from his home, it is only 10minutes from me so that worked out. Here's his FB post "for sale".
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/109289725755732/?hoisted_items=1261858931908077

He also has the Red Illma grafted, those trees looked really healthy as well. I may go back to buy one tree, he said he had about 30 trees. His prices are good now, not sure if this sale price is the normal selling price but the Black Gold showed $285 crossed out and is now $75.

I'll take a few photos of my new Black Gold later today and post it.

Hi Kaz, I am looking forward for the pictures. How big is this tree?
$75 is a good price. But it is 1.5 hours drive from here. Someone nearby me has a tree for $130, but the tree is as tall as me.

Kaz, that is most likely the 'perfume' variety. Five years ago, mine did not make through the winter (5 gallon plant).  This variety was around a while now.

Kim Le garden did a recent wax apple review of 'green giant'.  Here was her ranking.
1- green giant.
2-Thai long green
3-red rocket.
4-mst.

I plan to get mst.  Now, I might change my mind and wait for green giant instead.

This year, my Thai long green and Kecil grafts took.  Got my scions from Mark Lee.

Last year, my tiny red rocket plant produced a couple of fruits.  The fruits were pear shape, seedless, dark burgundy exterior and interior, crispy, juicy, and very sweet .  The plant is not doing well now.  Good thing, I graft one on my  Thai jumbo and grows very well.

Hi Seng,

I am ordering a Red Rocket now. Just wondering what can cause your Red Rocket to not doing well. I have killed 3 wax jambu trees before, and will try not to kill the new Red Rocket.

A little bit lazy to drive to Mimosa, so I tried to find an online source for this MST wax apple. Is this website legit? I just want a productive and decent taste wax apple.

I am very interested to have these seeds.
May I know what are you interested to barter it with?
I am from California, btw. I have many l8w chill delicious pluot and peach in season now.

How many pups would fit in a small or medium priority mail box?
Same question here

8
Anyone here grows this?
This is a must have condiment for a perfect Indonesian style BBQ sauce.

I'd possibly be into a few seeds as well. Where is Hobe Sound in Florida? I'm in Wewahitchka in the panhandle. Trying to get an idea of this species cold hardiness. Do the leaves smell pretty good or have you used it in food? If so was it good?
We use the leaves in almost every dish in Indonesia. Stew, soup, stir fry, steam etc. The aroma is very different with store bought bay leaves here.

Thanks Crisp for the offer. I've bought a bunch. Both day neutral and short variety. Also got red variety.
How do they grow'? I want to buy some seeds, but always had bad luck with seeds.

No worries at all. It has been growing through our winter... this plant is super vigorous! I hope it flowers in the next year.

I am interested to buy some seeds too!

I grow this every year. The young leaves can be stir fried with garlic, cooked in coconut milk like curry, or you just boiled them and eat it with peanut sauce.
But my favourite is the fruitlets. When the small fruit is about the size of an almond, they are super delicious eaten raw or cooked. Very nutty, slightly sweet, crunchy and juicy.

Carribean Plants and Produce has lot of fruit for sale

Great!!

Xain doesn't sell fruit. Jack & The Beanstalk is nearby to Xain and they do sell fruit.

You can also try Excalibur Fruit Trees, Naga Gardens,, Walter Zill Mangoes in Boynton Beach, Tropical Acres, Hidden Acres Mango Farm, etc.

Thanks a lot! When I checked online, Tropical Acres, Truly Tropicals, and Zill all show that they are closed on Saturday and Monday, do they let people visit by appointment when they don't open to public?

Hi everyone, we need help to plan our itinetary in Palm Beach from June 28th to the 30th.
I tried to do google search, but not much came out.
Most big farm closed on Saturday and Monday.
Where can we find fruits like mangoes, abiu, caimito, black sapote, and chempejack within 1 hour driving from Palm Beach?
Does Xain World sell fruit?
Thank you!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Soft jackfruit variety reaction!
« on: June 03, 2025, 12:02:24 AM »

Wow! 4 years only from seed to fruit! I am very interested in soft flesh jackfruit.
I am debating if i should buy some seeds from you and grow it. But it could take 15 years for the seedling ackfruit to bear fruit here in So- Cal. By that time who knows where I will be. Maybe I can find a big jackfruit tree and get some scion to graft.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / When to harvest Blue Java Banana?
« on: May 16, 2025, 03:31:36 PM »
First time my ice cream banana rack survives through winter. It has been on the tree since September last year, and still looks very green. Do I suppose to harvest it green and let it ripe in the dark storage, or wait until it turns yellow?

Hi Ji,

Nice to meet you. I've spent about 9-10 years in Taiwan, mostly in Taichung. Which part of Taiwan do you live?
There is a variety of guava called milk guava/ 牛奶. The only vendor who had it was a lady by the side gate of Feng Chia University.
I asked my friends in Taipei, and they said they never heard of this variety.
It was much smaller than crystal, very little seeds, almost seedless, not super crunchy but not mushy either, mild sweetness and mild guava aroma.
When I ate it, I understand why they call it Milk Guava. It was my favorite guava.
I have been looking for the seeds or the tree eversince.
It would be great if you could find some
Thanks!

Contact a forum member Maryoto. He gives tour to places in Indonesia/ Malaysia where the wild fruit trees grow. Most of these trees cannot be grown anywhere else but in the wild untouched by human.
I just saw in youtube about a Dayak (indegenous tribe in Kalimantan) lady found super rare Durios that only grow wild.
https://m.youtube.com/shorts/tA0n1HKwe9U
Sorry, the video is in Indonesian, but it shows the fruit very clearly.

I sent him a text and he said

"Oh shit I forgot".

So he should get back to you.

Thanks a bunch, Brad!

You havent got tracking# either?
Maybe you can try contracting through GalaPlants on Etsy? I'm not sure if it the same person but lots of his plants pictures have that name on it.

Best of luck!
Thanks! I haven't got any tracking, i did guess he forgot that I purchase the tree.

First, I am sorry to bother and disturb everyone.
I am just wondering if anything happened to Bonsai Beast?
He was selling Eugenia Smiithi on the Buy, Sell, and Trade.
I sent a PM to buy it on March 28th, he replied the next day and gave me his paypal information. So I sent the payment ($130) right away. After that I never heard from him again.
I tried to PM him twice with no respond, and also tried to reach him on his posting on Buy/Sell, no response. It showed he visited this forum yesterday.
I am wondering if the tree was shipped, but lost in shipment? Usually it won't take more than 3 days from San Diego to LA. I ordered 4 trees from Florida the same day on 03/29, and they all arrived 4 days ago.
Or maybe all his trees were sold before I paid, which is okay, I just need a refund.
Thank you.
