Tropical Fruit Discussion / Hawaiian Dwarf Starfruit
« on: January 20, 2025, 10:36:31 PM »
Hello everyone,

Back in 2020, I purchased a Hawaiian Dwarf Starfruit from a reputable nursery that has since closed down. During Winter Storm Uri in 2021, the majority of it froze back, however I believe it regrew from above the graft line. Thanks to Winter Storm Enzo, I had to trim it back to cover it and picked a lot of the fruit. Here is a picture of the fruit, all in different stages of ripening. Upon doing a google search for the variety, the AI feature highlights this dwarf variety as having pale yellow fruits.

Is there anyone growing this variety that is willing to give their two cents on whether or not these fruit are consistent with what the Hawaiian Dwarf is supposed to look like?

Thanks,
Danny

Hello Everyone,

My name is Danny and I'm a 27yr old plant lover from Deep South Texas (Rio Grande Valley). I have been growing plants and trees since I was a little kid, and now have a food forest with pockets of butterfly/bee gardens. I love growing all sorts of edible fruits/plants.

I am currently looking for seeds/scions of any tropical fruit trees that I do not already have. I live in zone 10a and will gladly buy, pay for postage, or trade scions of my own.
