Looks good. Will be interesting to see the inside flesh once you pick it and give us your taste results.

I tried the "slight twist" test you suggested and it is holding firmly, so I will try again in another week or two

Also, you can lift the fruit on your palm and if it feels light, then it is not ready. I usually can tell by this weight test better for most of my citrus fruits. I have my seedling pomelo with many fruits now, fruits are large, but fails my weigh check for ready to pick. If it feels light for the size of the fruit, it is not done yet.

The 3. year fruits from my Chandler now, not real big, due to 6 fruits I let on the plant,
but this year it' s a really good and tasty fruit, sweet, juicy and nearly no bitterness.
So I don' t need to regraft   ;) 8).

I am still watching my new madisoncitrus chandler to see if it is pink and drier or the same juicy yellow as my older one.  If it is, and tedburns is the same, I have my doubts about the consistency and official description of chandler type!

The question is, if for pink more heat is required than in our climates,
but I' m already happy now that the taste is good and my heat capacity is
enough for tasty fruits.
If you like coloured flesh with juicy fruit I can recommend you Valentinepomelo.
It' s delicious for eyes and mouth.

I have Valentine and red grapefruit and they definitely color up for me, I don't think that is the reason for lack of coloration for me at least

This Chandler just fell off into my hands with the slightest touch, hopefully it’s ready, mostly yellow with just a splash of light green on one side. Over 2lbs. Looking forward to trying it.

Chandler on the left. “Velma” Grapefruit on the right.

very nice Nate. I would like to hear your taste report on the Chandler. Take a photo when you cut the fruit open.

Picked the fruit from my new Chandler... it is also not pink!   Fully yellow flesh, no pink coloration at all.

It was a bit drier than the other one I have, good taste.  I am thinking maybe it just needs more specific environmental conditions than even pink grapefruit and pink blood oranges which do color up for me.  Or, there is some confusion and Chandler isn't really pink at all!  I doubt that both FourWinds and MadisonCitrus could have the "wrong Chandler".

Your growing conditions are not hot enough.  When I grew Chandler I kept my night time temperatures at 50F night, and 80/90F daytime.  Thee fruit was pink in color.

Brian, that's exactly how my Chandler fruits were. I grew my large tree for 6 years before top working it with much better fruits. Chandler never gave me fruits with pink, red or any color, always yellow flesh like your photo.

Hope it tasted good to you.

One of my Chandlers has finally produced a pink, dry-ish fruit!  It must be environmental as you guys suspected.

I have a few more fruits from the same trees in the fridge, I am curious if they will be pink & dry or yellow & juicy, or varying across the spectrum.  I just picked a juicy yellow one a week or so ago.  Zero seeds in any of them.

An article from Thailand said that their popular pummelo has more lycopene when night temperature was above 20 C during the last 2 months of maturation.

Chandler fruit has granulation when left hanging too long or using too much N.

@brian

Grow Vietnamese ‘da xanh’ pummelo if you want dry and clean pummelo.
Over here the cool weather kills the green chlorophyll so the skin would be yellow in winter.

I appreciate the suggestion but I have not found much variety of grafted pummelo trees available mail order in the US.  I don't think I have ever seen Asian types only ones grown commercially in US
