I’ve been looking for one as well. Can’t find any in Florida either, at least in Palm Beach 😢

Right now it will be almost impossible to find. Nobody has been grafting that variety in a while. Mike at Trees N More in Palm City is planning a batch but it will be a few months before they are ready. I don't think there is much demand for persimmon in general.

A farm near me grows the trees and sells the fruit but they will not sell or graft trees because they say their trees have some kind of mite infestation. I have eaten a lot of this variety of Persimmon and it is really delicious once it gets completely (and I mean compleeeeetely) ripe.

Tropical Persimmon??
"It is native to China, Northeast India and northern Indochina."

Is it that there are variaties that have chill requirements that are suitable for tropical climate?
I would love one of those, becuase what we got here in FNQ AU wont fruit in my lowland tropical climate.

Lara Farms may have some in the pipeline. Contact Julian, there may be a wait list. They get snatched up quicker then can be grafted. Supposedly the rootstock for Florida is very slow growing.

There are a couple of varieties that don't require any chill hours and fruit in Florida. Triumph (a cultivar from Israel) or South Florida. Success is pretty mixed but some folks get good results. The trees are scarce. These videos should have more info that is up to date:

Suruga was growing well and flowering for me here. Then the drought came, and neglect, then death.
