Wanted - Shiranui Mandarin
« on: January 14, 2025, 10:45:08 AM »
Looking to purchase a Shiranui Mandarin tree or cuttings for grafting. I live in AZ so getting a tree is very difficult due to state laws.  Let me know if there are any nurseries that can ship to AZ. Thanks!

I can send you some cuttings if AZ doesn't have an outright ban on importing scion.  Not sure what their rules are.  Pennsylvania isn't on anybody's "dangerous source" list but some states ban all imports or whitelist only approved nurseries

I did some digging and it looks like scions can be shipped but they have to meet some fairly strict requirements. They’d have to be certified to be free of citrus diseases. The state seems pretty strict but for good reason I imagine.

You can order from the CCPP https://ccpp.ucr.edu/variety/index.php

It is a little expensive because the only shipping option is FedEx over night. This is the only citrus mail order source I have found that is legal to ship to AZ.

I wanted to provide an update. Costco is starting to carry Shiranui mandarin trees in store now! I was able to find one in AZ. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I have been looking for a Shiranui tree and I am in Arizona as well! What part of AZ did you find these at? I had a couple seeds that I failed to sprout.
