I can take a few orders for “Walton” White Sapote fruit boxes. 5-7 fruits sent in a medium USPS flat rate box.
The fruits are all nice sized , larger than tennis ball size .
$65 shipped.

Mod edit: added “for sale” in subject

I haven’t seen him in a couple years but he was fairly permanently in SB at that point and just going back to the grover beach location a day or two a week sometimes to water
Such a cool guy to have sourced those and germinated so many back in the day, and sell the 15 gallons for like $35!!
I brought a few truckloads to SC and always wanted more. I planted 3 and distributed the rest.
Hoping for my first flowers and fruit set on the biggest one this year.

Parry from SLO palms has nice sized tree’s in 15 gallon pots.
Save yourself 15 years and pick one or 10 up from him if you can in Santa Barbara.
Hey Jonah, is that where Parry is now I know his place in Grover Beach is closed permanently!

Are these still available?

Taiwan has zero fuzz on the underside of the leaf so it’s definitely Edulis.

I’ve heard of people talking about the noni battles they used to have as kids :)
Wow, it is much larger than I imagined from seeing the pictures.  I was thinking a small berry.

Maybe good for hucking at your enemies.

How do you make the powder?

We prefer a powder.  The fully ripe fruit is legitimately sour and gross.  Here it's a health food, not a fun drink one buys on a hot day haha.

The pink one looks really cool.  I haven't seen this before,  very neat!

I rub and break up and smell leaves of all kinds , all the time. It’s a good way to gain more familiarity with plants. Which we as humans used to be more connected to. It’s a pretty normal thing to do.

My biggest concern is that most of us on this forum are already weird enough with our fruit/plant obsession. If I start rubbing and smelling leaves my wife with think I some kind of plant pervert.

Hi Eric,
I do not have seeds of Boothe or Chaffey.
They are at least $15 a pound here too.

Hi Benjamin,
I think it’s pure Cherimoya. I first grafted it in 2014, can’t remember who I got scion from

Inca Red, is it a hybrid?  Thanks!

With all due respect, What are you smoking?
AKME is that you?

This thread is funny because people are basing their opinions on trying something once or twice and thinking it sucks. I know what you guys mean in these descriptions and then I have tried a different cultivar somewhere else and it totally changed my opinion after having life changing Caimito, rollinia, canistel, macombo, muntingia, and others can all be really really good , even though they can also be just as y’all described.
My most disappointing fruit so far , hmmm , I really can’t think of any right now . Trying to keep my mind open in that regard. I guess the one’s that haven’t fruited yet and I would have expected them to awhile ago , or when you’ve had really good one’s and then try some crappy one’s.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Got to try a black sapote!

Sure you can.

Hi, black sapote is so good, I'm glad you got to try it.  Did the fruit & spice park let them bring back fruit?  I've read that their rule is that you can only pick fallen fruit.  I'll be visiting soon and was wondering about fruit that doesn't fall from the tree - like sapodilla and jackfruit.
Oh the stories I’ve seen and heard going down from people at the fruit and spice park
🤣
I can’t say anything else.
But it’s crazy funny out there🤣
