Just by the photo I could tell Sunrise needed immediate up-potting. Planting is even better but it is top heavy with leaves. It needs bracing against winds. At least that's what I would do. I have dug holes with a post hole digger and cemented in a 2x4. Used that as a foundation for a long term brace. You could dig two opposite holes and have a brace in the form of an upside down "U". This would mean three lengths of 2x4 nailed together. With two of them cemented into the ground. All nailing/screwing together of brace done before cementing brace into the ground.

Then tie the tree to brace with old electric cord or twine. I have not done two hole braces but I have done one hole braces (two lengths of 2x4 nailed together) in the form of upside down "L". All you need are 2x4s and cement and nails or screws.

I had one tree get blow over. The next day I put in a brace as described above. And right where the tree meets the brace I put in a few protruding nails to anchor in the electric cord. To prevent tree from blowing sideways back and forth and rubbing off some bark. Synthetic twine from Home Depot is good too. The kind they have outside the store....that they give you tying down lumber/plywood that you buy

I bought my Peach Cobbler there for 25 bucks.  His selection was very good that day.   It was hard to only buy one.

By the way, I was at the Lowe's in Winter Garden and they have a half dozen Kesar mango trees for sale.

Hey Fellas, I just noticed that the Sunrise mango is dropping some yellow leaves, I was gentle with the transplant , It may have transplant shock ? , I just watered the tree once the 1st day that i planted it, Should i lay off the water Or water it with one of these additives , Iron , Kelp , Fish Emu or just plain water ?

Thank Ed

Was the tree root bound?  I have sandy soil and I water daily  via micro irrigation.  My Sunrise had about 30 mangos this year; they were awesome!  Pretty fruit too; especially considering I have high humidity (fungus) issues.  Some experts advise against giving fertilizer to newly planted trees, others suggest a little 8-3-9 fertilizer.  Personally, I would give it a little 8-3-9, but you probably don't want to encourage vegetative growth because winter is coming.

You say dropping yellow leaves, were they yellow when you got the tree or did they just turn tellow since planting?  If just turning yellow, what percentage of the leaves?  When you planted it, did you amend the hole with anything?

Daily soaking with the hose is good, and in warmer month or periods really required.   Normally fertilizing with a palm fert or 8-3-9 is no problem however as was said, you may not want to encourage any vegetative growth with your winter knocking at your door.  In any event, dont add fish emulsion.  No iron either.

My bad, just looked at the picture above and dont see any yellow leaves.

Back to my original question,  did you amend the soil or add anything to the hole?  Did you do anything to the rootball when planting?  How often are you watering and how much?  What percentage of the leaves are yellowing?

I would take the mulch away from the tree for now for starters.  Is the level of the dirt while the tree was in the pot still expised or did you cover it with dirt?

Thanks for all your help Fellas!..

For future, never amend with potting mix and no perlite should be added to the ground.  In hot, dry weather 2x per week is not near enough water for a new anting.
