Introduce Yourself
Scipio:
Hello to everybody, I am located in Italy but often travelling around and curious about botanical species. I share some things on yuotube too.
Kalopa Guy:
Hi everyone my name is Eric. I live in Kalopa Homesteads, Big Island of Hawaii 1100' elevation 90" rain per year mostly between Oct and May.
I grad Hilo College in 1982 and started farming here shortly after growing vege crops as my macnut and coffee orchards grew in. We have avos/ dragonfruit/ banannas/ citrus/papaya/lychee and grow 1/2ac watermelons in the summer when the weather cooperates.
Our farm is not organic but we use organic methods for fertilization and pest control when possible. My macnut trees are ending their useful life and my 5000 coffee trees are dying from the recently introduced coffee leaf rust. I refuse to spray Badge X2 and Priaxor in rotation every 3 wks so I am currently stumping my 40yr old coffee trees and planting mangos. Finding people to pick coffee was never easy and now impossible anyway.
I have planted 100 Rapoza and Keitt and smaller numbers of Cat Saigon/ Maha-Chnook/ Irwin/ Fairchild/Cac/Pire and Brooks late.
I currently have hundreds of Mango seedlings I started and am growing out to use as root stock.
For those of you who don't know Hawaii has quite a history with Mango's. Cheers= Eric

Ljubi:
Hi everyone 🌷
I currently reside in Cantabria, Spain. My homeland is Serbia but my heart is big when I think of Florida and Japan. I spent my best years in US finishing my studies. Love topics related to flora and fauna. It is a never ending source of knowledge and inspiration.
Looking forward to sharing things with you all.
Best,
Luby

Hi everyone!!
I'm from the southwest of Puerto Rico. Currently a undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez(planing to graduate as a agronomist specialized in horticulture). My hobbies are mostly related to growing and evaluating Selenicereus(dragon fruit) variants and hybrids. Althought I also grow a variety of fruit trees, now including rare species of Annona(collection that I'm looking to expand).
