Wow, sete capotes is very difficult to sprout, but yes: we are getting better. Many sete capotes seeds got sprouted to their destinations.

And that guamirim is very rare! take care!

Yes I am aware of their rarity, because of the degradation of their natural habitat ...

I will do my best to grow in the best conditions ;).

we have very nice pitangas right now!

Hi Marcos,

I have three questions to ask you.

The Pitangas of this photo correspond to what in your Excel table?

The new variety of Pitanga Tangerine that you propose to what different from the reds that you already propose?

What variety of Pitanga do you prefer?

Thank you in advance for your answers ;).

Hi K-Rimes,

Thanks a lot for your answer and your precious advice ;).

The second choice seems the most judicious.

So parafilmer the scion, have a good concordance of cambiums and ligate well with Buddy Tape.

You're right it's better to avoid overwater.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Choice post-graft conditions for subtropicals
« on: February 28, 2022, 05:14:43 PM »
Hi all ;),

I will soon receive scions of avocados, white sapotes and atemoya to graft.

I have already graft temperate fruit and vegetables but it will be the first time for subtropical fruits.

Regarding the graft in itself I know how I will proceed but it is about the post-graft period that I ask myself questions.

I have 3 several possible scenarios that this is :

1) Putting young grafting plants in a cold greenhouse outside, but here there are still nights at 30°F.
Risk of failure by the cold?

2) Putting young grafting plants in my house, near a window.
Risk of failure by too dry indoor?

3) Putting young grafting plants in an airtight box in my house, saturated with moisture, and open the lid of the box small to small to acclimatize gradually.
Risk of failure by lack of aeration (rot)?

What do you think is the best choice to do?

Thank you in advance for your precious help.
