Nine Pound Lemon

Is anyone growing the Nine Pound Lemon variety?

I have my tree for over 5 years now, and it still does not get very large fruits. The largest fruit on it so far was only 2-3 lbs each.

If you have a fruit that is over 5 lbs on this variety, please post a photo, I would like to see that it will get that large.

I am growing it. Had one since 2013 or so. I might have gotten some in the 5 pound range if not a little bigger. They are much larger and more impressive than other lemons regardless. I dont have any photos. None of mine currently on the tree are that big yet. Still a bit early in the season.

ok, thanks for the update, 5lbs + would be nice.

I'm going to graft some on my larger trees, maybe that will help get my fruits larger in another year. My Banpeiyu fruits only got to 4.5 lbs this year and this pomelo is supposed have fruits as large as 10 lbs each. Maybe these trees just needs to be older or grafted on large vigorous rootstock.

Thin the fruit heavily. Then water and fertilize a lot. That can double fruit size on some things. An overloaded tree will not have big fruit.
