Aldi's has anvil and bypass loppers $9.99 this week
« on: April 18, 2018, 07:41:40 PM »
My store had both kinds but the way they were displayed.... They were not displayed side by side but in single file. So the box of anvil loppers hid the box of bypass loppers. So look carefully.   http://offers.kd2.org/en/us/aldi/pdlGj/

They also have two pruning shears for $4.00/  They are kind of weak but they use the kind of spring Felco pruners use https://www.amazon.com/Felco-291-Replacement-Springs-Pruners/dp/B0016AJCGQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1524094568&sr=1-4&keywords=pruning+shears+spring

So if you buy them you will have two springs in reserve. I already robbed one to put in my Felco

aldi circular on line >>>>  https://www.aldi.us/en/weekly-specials/our-weekly-ads/

Also axes and sledge hammers $9.99

I bought 2 loppers for friends. You can't get better deal than that.

I have one of each from them....bypass and anvil.   Their bypass is more heavy duty this year. Now with leveraged action same as the anvil has always been. The head of the bypass NOW has different blade cutting action than other bypass loppers I have seen. More serious with a wider blade. Now their bypass lopper looks similar to anvil but with the wide blade passing by (bypassing) thick steel. As opposed to the usual bypass lopper that looks like larger pruning shears.

IOW the Aldi bypass lopper is now heavy duty same as anvils always are. So now your choice comes down to....do I want anvil cutting action or bypass cutting action.
