Id of 2 different Myrciaria
« on: November 17, 2021, 07:41:07 PM »
I lost the tags of these two plants, I think the first 2 are Strigipes? and the other maybe Red hybrid? The tag that was in the first one was Escal and Phitrantha. I'm pretty much clueless, haha.

Thanks for the help. I couldn't get a password reset as MarkLee, so starting over as MarkTLee.

1&2 are some yellow group, could be strigipes. 3 might be grimal.

The new foliage on that first plant is incredible looking, very striking.

Agreed, I have a strygripes that grows ok but not like that!

It was in a 2 gallon pot with peatmoss and perlite and regular city water, outside in full sun. I just moved it up to a 5 gallon.
The pot had a lot of salt residue, so it seems to grow fine with our lousy San Diego water.

First two are definitely strigipes, they look just the new growth on mine, and they are not glazoviana or gaquiea.

Yeah Richard, I have some big glazoviana and flowering guaquiea right now. Don't know if they will set fruit. Have yours?
