I bought one several months back from a TFF member in PR.  It was about 8 inches tall when received.

I potted it into a 1-gallon pot and it sat there for about six weeks, apparently doing nothing.

But it eventually started growing and is now about 11 inches tall. It continues adding leaves, although so slowly that it doesn't seem to be doing anything at all.   But most of the growth has been lateral.  Today I noticed that it is just starting to push out some vertical growth so that is a good sign.  I will probably move it up into a 2-gallon pot soon.

It has received light fertilizer occasionally and it's allowed to mostly dry out between waterings.  Don't know how much larger the plant will have to get before I can hope for any fruit.

Not sure how much fertilizer it likes or tolerates –or wants, even.  Any advice on fertilizer?

They act like dwarfs for several years, and then take off.

Don't know when mine might decide to bloom.  ButI know that while it is quite a lot larger than in 2020 it is still very slow growing.  It is closing on two feet tall but is also growing all its branches horizontally, similar to the habit of a Norfolk Island Pine.  It's about 20-inches wide at this writing.  It is developing a vey attractive shape, overall but its growth rate is really tortoise-slow.

It is now in a three-gallon pot and looks like it could benefit from being moved into a 5 gallon pot before long.

I'm letting it dry these days to barely damp between waterings since our rainly season has ended for this year. It seems happy with that watering arrangement.  It sits in full sun for half the day and then is shaded by my house.

I'm hoping that it'll take off growing a bit faster in the coming season and perhaps will see some blooms then.

Fingers X-ed!

Glad to hear the update, Paul. It seems that your plants and mine are acting like Har said they would, with glacially slow growth for years until they finally shoot up. I have also noticed that mine grow more horizontally than vertically. Nearly all their growth this year was horizonal growth with relatively little growth upwards; they are now wider than they are tall.
