The pernambuco and abacaxi look just like yellow sugarloaf.  I think they may all be same or very closely related.

Do you already have a yellow sugarloaf?

Hi Brad - It’s Brett.  At some point I’ll need to get a sugarloaf.

The plants you sent are doing great BTW - thank you again!

For those who come across this thread looking into research and more info, I found the following links helpful in understanding differences:

The description on that page says sugarloaf is closely related to those 2 you were looking for.  Ive got a couple different versions of those kinds of pineapples.  The fruit is good but the plant is really spiney and it makes a ton of suckers that have to be thinned.

I have one Abacaxi pineapple plant growing right now but it won't be ready till next season to flower and even than I won't have enough suckers or slips to offer anyone till I can get a few more plants to grow off this mother's plant and that will still  take time and maybe by then I will have some to offer

In my webcrawling I also found this resource which is good reading.

https://www.itfnet.org/v1/2016/05/pineapple-common-varieties/

Most of these cultivar classifications cover the same ground, this one has some additional information that’s valuable.
