Will canistel survive in zone 9b, I have always been fascinated by them? I read that the best variety is Aura?

Hi Sidney,

Try searching in the Tropical Fruit discussion. You can find it on the Home Screen.

This was one string I found.

I had one growing when I lived in Sarasota. Seemed to do good. Might have to protect on really cold nights or whatever while young but once established should handle it.

On a side note I have a few canistel seeds to trade if anyone is interested.
Trying to grow it all!

Fairchild II, in ground, fruited for me in 9B. If you have sandy soil (tends to be devoid of nutrients) I suggest you amend when planting. Mines struggled for the first 2 years.

No where to plant it ...but at least I got it. ;)
