Sounds awesome! When you say "firm" you mean flesh? Will you be selling any or any seeds? Is the tree small? Thanks!

Yes firm flesh, also low latex. The tree is small 2.5 inch caliper.I did not save the seeds, might find some on the ground.
I have to mark this tree before I lose track of position.

Are winters dry where you live?

I have expereince with a jackfruit tree that produces extermely sweet and dryish fruits (there's crystalised sugar even in it) in the beginning of the season (dry season) and at the end of the season (wet season) they taste very watery and avarage so maybe there's enviromental factors and not so much genetics when it comes to this extreme sweetness.

Yes it is dry season and that can affect to a degree .But J29 is a very potent jak for flavor and sugar that why I opted to plant seeds to find a jak that was as good or better.J 29 has draw backs thin fleshed and to soft .Several prodigy have far exceeded the original, still more to come.

Orange Crush?  isn't that a, selection from Pine island nurseryI don't know the pedigree of orange crush, but I bet it's good.I had bought some jaks from  Pine island nursery back in 2005 ,Mai 1 jackfruit and their rootstock sprouted out and it was far better than Mai1 ,and orange color.I cut off the Mai.
The only other J29s in the state I know of were with DR Richard Campbell, PI nursery may have obtain seeds from Richard. After the 2010 cold event Richard lost the J29s as they seem to be more tropical.
Your in a very good growing zone,Iona florida aka Truckland used to be a big vegetable growing
region according to florida stats it had the fewest freeze events in the entire state for Ag region.
