Edges of young mango leaves look burned
« on: January 15, 2022, 08:17:21 PM »
Three of my young mango trees have brown/black and curled edges and tips.  Some have black spots.
Is this MBBS or anthracnose, or something else?
They won't be fruiting for a several years, but is there something I can or should do now?

Thanks

3 gallon PPK (Lemon Meringue) planted August 2021

3 gallon Pickering planted July 2021

7 gallon Honey Kiss planted August 2021

Is it your camera,  the trees look kinda yellow, what are you
fertilizing with? also what kind of water are you using?
I would worry about getting a good regimen and give the trees
a season and see what the new growth looks like.
I have had good luck using Diamond R  8-4-8 and spraying
a couple times a year with Southern Ag citrus foliar spray.
I apply a small amount of fertilizer every month. I water with
my shallow well which all my trees seem to thrive. I previously
watered with a deep well that was high in salts and mangos did
not do well

Yes, I guess they are kind of yellow.
They have not been in the ground long, so they've only been fertilized 2 times:
1 month after planting, then again 3-4 months later with granular Pro-Mate 8-2-12.
It has been a rainy fall/winter for me, so after the first month, I have rarely watered, but when I did it was with rain water off my roof.

Electrolyte Imbalance in plant. Most likely low on Potassium.
