At least you know they do well in containers I have some fruiting in a #5 pot. The biggest problem I see is that they grow super fast and will eventually get too big to move around. With pruning, you should be able to keep them manageable.

Up potted my seedling plant. Currently flushing new growth
Nick, your seedling looks very healthy, will you be putting it into the ground eventually?
Thanks Ben, yes I’m definitely super stoked!
Jeramy, I’d agree it’s probably time to put that male on there. If you graft it soon, hopefully it will produce pollen for you next year.

Be careful with the amount of sunlight, April seems extra bright. Burned a few eugenias recently.
Ugh, they are dioecious? I didn't even realize
Wow, very nice guys. Nick has a monster leaf. Now I don't know if I want to show my small leaves on my two plants. Nice growth on yours as well Nate. Maybe I better move my plants into a larger pot, the treepot may be too small.
How old is the guabiju, and how large? My seedlings are a few years old but they get tip burn every winter and then don't start growing until late spring, so they are still very small (6 inches tall at most). I'm very impressed with their hardiness (only tip burn and a few dead leaves from 15°F), but figured they won't flower for many years at this rate.
My solo calycina set fruit. The seeds seemed normal and I have a couple of them growing new plants.
I've never heard of guabiju, though, can't speak to that one.
My calycina made tiny aborted seed fruit when it was alone. With friends it made full size, full seed fruit.
My guabiju flowered last year, but did not set any fruit, so I added a few scions from another member to it to see if that helps.
If you need some scions lmk
Great to have younger members on the forum.
$10 wouldn't cover the shipping cost of the fruit.
Support the fruit sellers when you can and grow the seeds out to try and recoup money if it's tight.
sharing extra is where it's at , but that's mother theresa level to package it up and take it to usps and pay to share it with you.
I haven't done much grafting. It is interesting that no one here is recommending rubber strips for tightening the union. Does this not have merit?
It very well could...I have seen trees smaller than that fruit, but they were rooted cuttings.
As for taste, it is a mid fruit, but looks very interesting.
Sweet but weird texture as it's very slimy.
I put a few in a bag and a few hours later they basically turned to water.
