Got my monkey orange today.  Nice size, was wrapped professionally,  plant arrived in perfect.  An overall excellent buying experience for anyone interested in his selection.
By the way, is monkey orange self fertile?

Great to hear! I do believe the Monkey Orange is self fertile, as the tree I harvested the seeds from does not have any other trees nearby.

Just bought a strychnos tree from you.  Looking forward to it.  If you ever air layer a female kei apple, I'll definitely buy one from you as well.

not sure if you reached out to seller yet but did he ship to AZ?

Yes, I am Certified to ship to AZ

I have seedlings for sale as well if anyone is interested.

on the higher price side but still reasonable in my opinion as the seeds took about 10 months to sprout up, also had to have them imported from indonesia.

picture shown is of a kepel on the smaller side. I like to under promise and over deliver, seedlings are slightly larger than image shown.

Thesims, looks like a great Etsy shop. Are all of the scions from fruiting trees? I couldnít tell by reading the description. Thanks!

Yes I will make more clear in descriptions, But every cutting I sell is from a already fruited tree. Thanks

Have you rooted the cinnamon cuttings before?  What kind of success rates are you getting?  Also, do you sell fresh seeds or small seedlings?

I have rooted them using clonex, they are more difficult than most but do able if you have good shade, high humidity, and never let the soil dry out.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Should I Cut my Inga Laurina Air Layers?
« on: April 29, 2023, 01:48:09 PM »
I did them about a month ago, this is what the air layers are looking like at the moment, not sure if its quite time to cut them yet. Should I give it another week or so? or would I be fine to try and cut some now to pot up? Cheers 4/29/2023

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Green Sapote Tree
« on: April 21, 2023, 08:03:03 AM »
Hey?!

I got a green sapote cultivar from a really nice grower in South FL....it's called Whitman...I suppose old Willy Whitman had it....notorious for getting the best of the best if he could....I've also heard there was a study done on the brix level, of the fruits of this cultivar "whitman", and it was off the meat rack sweet!!!

I am willing to share budwood at a later date, but my two trees need to grow a little before I cut them...so maybe ready to distribute budwood in August of this year, fruit Gods willing...

How is your green sapote doing? Has it fruited for you ?

Top 10:
Coconut Cream
Guava Mango (Guamango)
Pickering
Orange Sherbet
Rosigold (tasted like floral roses to me)
Lemon Zest
Nam Doc Mai
PPK (lemon meringue)
Buttercream
And believe it or not I like the shitty fibrous turpetine mango

RECENTLY PLANTED
Creme Brulee (I want to know more about this variety and haven't tasted it)
Casturi Mango
Lancetilla
Irwin

I don't have a shortage of planting space so I did a couple less desirable varieties.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / M-4 VS Sugarloaf Mango
« on: April 18, 2023, 11:30:41 AM »
I always thought these were the same mango variety, a local nursery is offering m4 and sugarloaf as different trees, does anyone here have experience growing them, how do the taste compare? And Ultimately which do you prefer?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Illegal or Not?? Mango Scions
« on: March 02, 2023, 11:01:18 PM »
Hello, would it be illegal to sell scions (not plants) of a patented variety of mango such as those of Zills nurseries (coco creme, etc...)

Not in the Clear yet, but these look promising!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Cold weather insulation on trees
« on: February 09, 2023, 09:26:08 AM »
I use plumbing insulation tubing on young trees, you can find at almost any hardware store, Place it around the trunk and then leave it, its easy, cheap and worked well for me, the material looks similar to a pool noodle.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Yangmei and Dwarf Wax Myrtle
« on: February 05, 2023, 01:07:54 PM »
Right now, there are three known rootstocks being used.  Use the one in your region is preferable.

1-M. Californica also known as pacific wax myrtle.
2-m. cerifera also known as northern wax myrtle.
3-m. pensilvanica also known as southern wax myrtle.

I want to start getting into yangmei as well.

I believe Myrica cerifera is the Southern Wax Myrtle

Elocious, when I saw buds and unwrapped one of the trees with buds on it, it immediately started to loose moisture and die back, maybe my humidity wasnít high enough, although it was around 60-70% humidity and filtered sunlight, Iím leaving the tape on for now and will remove when leaves and roots develop.

25
UH OH GUYS, I see a weird type of infection on some of the trees Iíve never seen before, looks like fungus or spores growing all through the buddy tape on a few trees, take a look, Iím going to cut them down to the rootstock and burn them

Isn't that just mold? That tree is dead then...Just what happens to dead wood?

It wasnít dead a few days ago, looked like rapid decline, I hope itís just dead and fungal growth emerging but donít want any spores to spread. Better safe than sorry
