Hi,  I bought a bloody orange while back.  Almost died out after I plant it on the ground.  Last year there are some Scion started to pop out.  Some should be the bloody orange I purchased. Some look like from the rootstock, sucker.  I am planning to keep the sucker and let it grow some fruit so I can collect some seeds to germinate rootstocks.  Can someone help to identify what type of tree is this?

Thx

Is the rootstock labeled?  If so, what did they use for the rootstock.

I didn't see any label for the rootstock, but I saw a thorn in the rootstock.  My guess it is a Trifoliata.

Citrus General Discussion / Four winds nursery - Owari Satsuma
« on: July 12, 2019, 11:51:50 PM »
After a long week of waiting, my Satsuma trees are finally here.  Here are pictures of of them including the high in case someone hadn't ordered from four season before.  They are the entry-level.  All the trees look healthy and good condition.  I am happy with them.  I will repot them in a 5 gal pot tomorrow morning.

Added:
They are whip graft.

Thanks Will2358 for the correction.

I don't know. She lives in Beaumont. Pays $2250.00 house note per month. $3000.00 per annum property taxes. House only has 1235 square feet in it. Thats pretty steep to a SG like me. She tells me I would like the weather but.......

The house pricing in California is so ridiculous right now.  You cannot buy a house for 1/2 mil in LA county.  Even though I like to weather like here, nice and sunny.  I won't live here when I am retired.  My sister-in-law live in Oregon, her house with 3 big bedrooms and a large liveroom with over 1800SF only for 75K, and the lot is over 1 acre, but she cannot plant any of the fruit tree that I plant her due to the snow weather.

No. You have to be a registered grower to get budwood from Texas and when its all said and done the price is higher than ccpp. I paid $600.00 for ccpp wood this year...$2.50 per budeye..........😥.

Bomand,  move to California, only $1.5 per bud.  ;)

The Satsuma is flowering again.  Is it normal for satsuma?

814
A solo cup, plastic bag, and the sun.

Yup.

I am doing that way too, but after everyone said rooting satsuma from cutting is very hard.  I want to increase the success rate, wondering to buy a germinator to increase the success rate.

815
What do you recommend?  I am looking for a germinator.

Cold Hardy Citrus / Re: Growing From Seed

Great on those cuttings and the seeding.  My tangerine tree is from seed, it took 5-6 years to flowers.  The first year of flowering were only few fruits, 2rd year was doing a lot better.  The fruit are more tasty than the one I bought from the market.

Since the satsuma is very hard to root from cutting.  I ordered 4 more from four seasons. I love satsuma.  I am rooting some Trifoliata for rootstocks.  Hope it is easier to root from cutting and ready for next spring.

Here is the pic of the unidentified tree flower look like.

Certainly appears to be in fabaceae.

I'm really curious as to the plant.

Finally, I know what type of tree of it.   guamuchil
