For home grown I like the Dancy.   Super easy to peel, good and healthy grower,  pretty consistent quality, and seems to produce a bumper crop every year.    I guess that use to be a commercial variety in Florida but has been replaced with new hybrids.  But, the good ole' Dancy seems to produce every year with minimum care for me, thus is my favorite.

Xie Shan (pronounced She Shan) easy peeling, seedless, very early maturing. Because Xie Shan matures so early (September/October) it is rarely ever lost due to frost.  The two citrus taste contest that I have been present at, Xie Shan was the taste test winner both times. The last contest was held at the 2014 Citrus Expo in Alabama. - Millet

The KISHU is at the top of the list for being good. It is small but more than makes up for the taste..

Central Floridave and buddinman, thanks for the suggestions!

Millet, Thanks for the Xie Shan recommendation. I have read very good things about both Xie Shan and Gold Nugget. Is it hard to obtain budwood for these?

Xie Shan and Kishu are both excellent and my favorites too. I think Gold Nugget is much later so you might like to have all three. I've never had a Gold Nugget that I know of but I have heard great things about them. Tom
