Please ID this tropical fruit!

I ask of you fruit gurus what in fact is this fruit???

Is it a garcinia of some sort?

Is it possible this could be an apocynacea species? Making it a poisonous species?

Also thought it kinda looks like tropical almond. Maybe???

Looks like Carissa macrocarpa or natal plum to me. Maybe it's a relative?

Agreed. It does look like Natal plum.  Is it thorny ?

Fruit looks remotely like natal plum but leaves look somewhat like ficus. Large central seed or small embedded seeds? Seeing the inside of the fruit would help others. I have no idea what it is.

I have seen this fruit in the poisonous section at the Mounts botanical garden .I would be careful
before eating. It does not look like a natal plum,carissa grandiflora

Not thorny and it's more like a tree I grow natal Plum it's definitely not that.

No not miracle fruit either. These guys are about the size of an egg. Miracle fruit are like an inch long. Many of my well versed plant buddies in town are pretty confident its in the apocynacea family and poisonous but haven't yet nailed the exact ID yet.

yes looks like a Phaleria sp. (not edible) it does remind me somewhat of the phaleria octandra...lol  I have seedlings if anyone is interested...it's an ornamental plant I happened to come across, that ended up in my collection (after gathering seeds for a friend who requested them)

Foliage looks like a Cerebera, They often have twin fruit with most being blue and a few being reddish or maroon. They are milky sapped and almost devoid of flesh so are inedible. The seeds are meant to float like a coconut,
