Can wasps harm trees/fruit?

I've had a wasp eyeing the small fruit on my atemoya tree for a couple of days now, and it's made me a little concerned... Can they harm plants/fruit? I know some like to eat fruit, so I've been keeping an eye on it, but I don't want to kill it if I don't need to.

Most are beneficial carnivores and will eat harmful insects.

It's probably Gathering material so it can build a nest somewhere it won't harm the tree or plant

Can it be a fruit wasp ?? I've heard papaya often has this problem, the wasp lays her eggs in the fruit.

thanks for correcting this , I have read people cal it a wasp , apparently it's not.
