I'll have to agree with Rainman about 'Raja Puri', for the same several reasons as he states above.
Further, author W. O. Lessard in his OOP 1992 book, "The Complete Book of Bananas," refers to the 'Raja Puri' cultivar as being a 'bullet proof' banana. From my own experience this seems to be the case, so I'd recommend it to you.
Mine in a 2 gal. pot and about 3 ft. tall and spindly, made it through the Dec. '22 cold snap here in Tampa (a couple of hours at 32ºF.) and sustained only a little leaf-burn with no more protection than being placed under my north-facing pergola which is about 70% covered with a Petrea volubilis (= Queen's Wreath) vine.
Since the worst of the cold temps seem to be past for this season my 'Raja puri' was, as of Feb. 6th, planted out into the ground in a full-sun area of my yard. It is already pushing out a new leaf.
