you made me hop out of my desk chair and go check mine. Looks like 5 or 6 varieties of female trees will make it but not the male. Very happy and thanks for all those doling out advice

Iíve got about 15 or so males, donít see any buds yet but definitely still alive, if any live I can help share scions

Wow, thank you. Hopefully we can work out something in the future and I wont forget

might be a good idea to have a set up not dependent on electricity. Seems like you guys have a power failure during the winter/ summer extreme temps

6
Does anyone have a comprehensive set up similar to this seller?

My plan is to pay the design fee and buy a 24' x 48' hoop house from Grower's solution

This seems like a Monopoly card of "bank error in your favor". great looking tree

Looking into building a climate battery greenhouse here in the next few weeks. Hope I can chime back in on this thread shortly

I pretty much did the same thing with addition of soaking an additional hour in nematode control. Also I plan on only using distilled water

Found this:

So I contacted a Chinese yangmei researcher about the rapid die off that many of us experience with our seedlings. I described the symptoms and included several pictures. Here is her response:

    Dear Ron,

    Good morning!

Letter received! Myrica rubra likes acid yellow soil. If the soil is too fertile, for example, the nitrogen and phosphorus content is high, it is easy to die. The main symptom of your bayberry death is that the nutrient matrix is not suitable.

Does the researcher mean yellow like on the PH scale?

Nice. Big bonus is whoever wins doesn't have to revive it at all.

HUGE bonus. I lost over 20 trees from one of the previous group buys. Guess what I have to show for all that money and time? 2 male trees.

Ooof, im in danger

14
Great write up Simon. Now I will be even more crushed if all my yangmei trees die under my care.

15
Could you ship out the 5 seedling bunch of sweet tart mangos to me? I just purchased a home and in the process of planting stuff in the front yard

16
Would you folks suggest picking up some Myrica cerifera seedlings over Myrica californica?

17
yea my goal is to widdle down too.... eventually

18
Thanks Ill keep it in mind next season. I already have too many cuttings rooting and more in the fridge. Think Im out of tree pots

19
I already have CDA and SJDK but this is a solid deal for anyone else

Bump for tonight. Will be doing a Q&A after the presentation.

Can you make this like one of those Fathom Events? Instead of showing Opera at the movie theaters, we could stream your event?

JK, I hate my state

Not familiar with Fathom.
Anytime I do a paid talk for a group or club I leave it up to them as far as sharing the content. Since they obviously want to incentivize people to join/attend their meetings.

But the stuff I do with Fruitful Trees and Paul Nison gets posted on YouTube. Weíll probably do at least one Q&A stream about mangos before the season and Iíll try to remember post about it beforehand on here.

I was just making a joke, trying to highlight the specialness. In the movie theatres, sometimes they have ads for Phanthom Events likes seeing "Phantom of the Opera" by a famous theatre troupe. Maybe it's a west coast thing.

Folks,
The order has been sent to the exporter with the number of 800 trees.
This is probably the last order of Yangmei trees I do for the community. We are aiming to get our trees in mid-January, 2023.

Thank you all for the support and happy new year!

Bill

Hats off for organizing this again. Can't thank you enough for the selfless hours you have put in.

Mine was very sweet with little to none of the typical pineapple tang. It was more expensive when I purchased it a few years ago. I would buy it again for $8 for a special occasion.
