I’m sorry, it’s called a cocoyam or yautia in English

33
This has got to be Malanga. Comes in white and purplish flesh. Delicious prepared in its simplicity. Boil in water with a little salt after peeling the skin. Make a Mash with some butter and a little salt or serve it hot with a Codfish salad.
It’s a tuber just like a potato and can be treated as such by baking, mashing, boiled or fried.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Peaches and Plums in hot climates

RS, I like where this conversation might be headed. Bare with me as I fantasize about planting some Taiwanese stone fruit with only 28 hrs low chill. Your friend has to find a Nursery that has Grafted Sanyueli seedlings barefooted dormant in bulk with a permit to ship out and you need permit for receiving. Upon visiting he should report on quality of seedlings and check for any diseases on the roots. Your friend might have to visit a few nurseries as one might have higher standards than the other.  Negotiate price for like 300 BAREROOT seedlings. I think there would be interest for a low chill stone fruit or several types. Your friend should report on that also…..RS, a note, it will take some organization from you as you make the announcement for orders.
I might have left a few thinks out. Forgive me. I’m going to sleep with this fantasy.

Check in with Jabba the Hut, had a lot of Suriname seeds for sale recently.

37
Forgot to ask it you did a scratch test to determine if still viable. Just scratch the trunk and see if still green. If it is, you still have a chance.

It looks like it’s starving for water. Please water it thoroughly but don’t drown it and place in shade. All those dried leaves will drop eventually you will get new growth. Also spray with water lightly so the bark gets moisture. Good luck, hope it’s not to late.

Yes you can! Super low chill for peaches. They out there and I’m looking. Patiently. Plums can’t comment.

Hey D,
Got the shampoo ginger rhizome. Excellent specimen.
Thank you.

Which of these are considered Condo Mango or dwarf mango trees?

44
Water it.

It’s the number one problem with gardeners. Planting seedlings close to the house, causing self-inflicted problems to there home foundations. Costly. The roots are expansive, reaching dozens of feet out and then bringing a seedling up from it roots to start another tree.  Not hating on you FruitGrower but please heed a warning that you might have foundation problems….shortly in the future.
I love everything breadfruit. Everything. Just ate a salad of codfish and boiled slices of breadfruit. ‘Bacalao con Pana’
Here’s to Ma’afala and feeding the World with its fruit!

You are going to have to cut that tree down cause it’s going to destroy your house. You see it in your first pic. Poor tree, growing so beautifully. These trees get BIG. Anyhow, can’t pick up, still got root cutting available?

Get a 12x12x48 box. Bring some tape so it move around, cover top of pot with paper and tape so not to lose soil.  Gently drop into box without breaking branches. Reinforce corners so not to crushbox. Check in with luggage. Consult with wonderfruit on how tall plant with pot, just in case it needs to be bigger that 48 inches. Luck.
