I have two grimals and the bark doesn't look like that.
I am in Florida though. I have always heard if jabos are happy they
peal constantly. What are your temps and humidity like?

Mine peeled in a similar spot - ok well I lied, I assisted it a bit, but it looks nearly the same, similar trunk caliper too though yours look to have nicer shape. I wouldn't worry at all.

I think that it is normal as your tree look pretty young. Young tree bark is the brown stuff, and once it gets older the bark starts to peel, revealing the regular bark (that patch you are seeing). As the tree ages, it will peel more and more of the trunk will look like that.
